Here is the biggest lesson Woody Johnson has to learn and understand. Or lose the Fanbase completely.. This is New York. The Biggest Market in the Nation. This is where stars are born or made. This is where those who are not good enuf get eaten and spit out. You simply have to go BIG here or not bother. You cannot treat this market like a afterthought or a cash cow. This is the place where you bring your expertise and have it tested at the highest level.. This is NOT the place where you learn as you go. As long as you stay with your OJT vision, this team will never amount to anything more than a yearly pile of steaming shit you have to excuse to your customers. Hire a "name" to run things. Hess did it with Parcells and it worked. Again, recognize your market and act accordingly. Or sell/move the franchise as this amateur hour shit has run its course. Your choice Woody.. Get this shit straightened out, or GTFOH and move the franchise to London. We're way beyond ridiculous.
Cman........ You and I both know all too well, Dipshit Woody would just hire the wrong person. Probably his kid or someone like that.
Woody is roughly in the same position that Hess was decades ago. A failing franchise, falling attendance numbers, horrible PR, irrelevant except for TV revenue. Woody has to make a move if this latest OJT experiment fails or risk losing what's left of the fanbase. He might get by off the TV revenue, but the ad money will start to dry up as advertisers don't want their product associated with a dead-end franchise. Of course the Woody we know will continue doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result. Woody understands 2 things. Gate receipts and public perception. If he doesn't bring in a headliner, he can kiss any hope of a resurgence goodbye. Especially if the Giants bring in Harbaugh and they turn it around while the Jets stay in the NFL sewer.
Please don't stop there. https://forums.theganggreen.com/threads/john-harbaugh-is-fired.101235/page-4#post-4481046
it feels so much worse than it did mid 90s. there was some talent on those teams it was just finding a guy who could get something out of them. they found that in parcells. sadly woody and his decision making continues to be horrible. while i watch the pats be a formidable playoff team because they made hard decisions and did what needed to be done woody didnt say i see the guy who will lead us and make it happen. they did. thats why the last 20 years have looked the way they have in new england and new york. hes clueless and i fear will never figure it out. hess only did when he thought he was going to die. woody seems to be in pretty good health. and i honestly dont trust the idiot brother or the dumb kid any more than i do woody. and if the organization went up for sale i could only imagine the new york dipshit that would buy it.
Parcells wasn't just a name though he was a proven winner. A comparable move for Woody Johnson would be like stealing away Sean Payton from the Broncos. He could never pull something like that off. Woody has brought in plenty of "big names"
The Jets org is like watching the three stooges try to build something... Frankly, I come to the conclusion that Woody is a stupid. Not a fool but stupid and strubborn to boot. To not attend the last few games, then have to watch Rogers and NE in the PO is a special kind of payback for his stupidity for staying with AG... F him he deserves this misery.
To thicken the circle... Pit will add Lazard right before the SB and he'll end up catching the game winning TD
He isn't going to straighten things out Cman, he truly needs to GTFOH. It will be have to be from within the team or as fans we embarrass Woody and keep calling him out
I can’t state strongly enough how much I hate this dipshit stupid owner. He has no business owning a team. He is a clueless fucking imbecile. I really really hate him for making our Jets fandom miserable. I have never felt as hopeless as I do these days. Never. Even living through Kotite and Gase. I think it’s because this is so blatantly obvious that he needs to make a change, that we have a great stock of picks, that there are a bunch of good HC candidates from the offensive side of the ball out there, that all of history says that AG will not succeed after putting up the year he did…all the signs are right there. We ALL saw this coming as soon as he hired yet another rookie DC. And he does nothing. He ALWAYS makes the wrong decision. And we are helpless to do anything about it other than just quitting the team that so many of us grew up with. It’s the hopelessness that just gets to me. Sure, we have the #2 overall pick, and yet I think most of us feel like it won’t make any difference. Not with this coach. Of course, typical Jets luck…the Pats pick #3 and in a 3QB draft, and have Maye sitting there for them. This is now the second time that we are picking #2 in a ONE QB draft… This longest playoff drought in all 4 major US sports is crazy. You literally could have had a kid and watch that child get to high school in the time since our last playoff appearance. In a league where the structure is set up to promote parity so that success or failure is really determined by your choices…what HC, what QB, what GM. That’s it. The system WANTS the bad teams to get better. And here we are.
