The same reason we all did my friend. All just sitting around waiting for the Easter bunny or Santa to come save us. This franchised is cursed, not from Namath but we are paying for all Woody's fortune. Woody has had his entire life handed to him, the curse was never Namath, it was fucking Woody.

That was Mendoza's coming out party. He clearly established himself as #1 guy, and it's as clear as ever now we are not getting him. But we have to look at this result in context. Moore overall wasn't terrible. Indiana has really good defense. You might be shocked, but this is the best any QB did passing against Indiana this season by wide margin and much better than Moore did against them the 1st time. Penn state did put up 24 points against them earlier, but no one else aside from Oregon scored 20+, including Sayin's Ohio St. He is still easily #2 guy in the draft and a good prospect. Just not sure if he declares now.

Moore sucks. The best thing that could happen to us is that Woody not talk himself into believing he doesn't suck.

    I'm saying it now.

Moore is Zach Wilson light for me. That was an awful performance against Indiana. After that fumble on the goal line, trying to throw into the flat. INT on the first play of the game. No shot. They can't draft him with this coaching staff. I'm all the way out on Moore.

First off, that was NOT Mendoza's coming out party. He's been doing it all season long so I have no idea what you're talking about or watching or reading. Maybe for you it's his coming out party but not for most of the free world. I told you leading up to the game that there was a clear gap between the two of them and you and many others on here said something along the lines of well I don't know, Moore still may have more upside, blah, blah, blah. You're not actually one of those people who believes in potential over production, are you? That's fool's gold and how people get fired and lose their jobs.

I would take Chambliss and several other QB's over Moore in a heartbeat at this stage. He needs a lot of work. Last night, he did nothing to disprove that last night.

Most of Moore's stats last night were put up in garbage time after the outcome was no longer in doubt. Moore may come out but you better believe he unquestionably hurt his draft stock last night. Whichever GM and team pick him are going to be under huge scrutiny just off this absolutely ghastly performance alone.

Moore was a huge reason that game was over at halftime last night. Don't kid yourself.

It's easy to overreact to this game but I do think Moore can be a good NFL QB. What this game exposed for me was just that the overall level of readiness is not where I would want to see it to be a year 1 starter. He needs to go back to Oregon one more season or get drafted by a team that can be patient and develop him behind a veteran. That is not the Jets.

But my God, Mendoza is good. And this feels like Trevor Lawrence all over again. :(

Well maybe but they didn’t exactly run the gauntlet of quarterbacks. Yeah I guess he looked better than true freshman Malik Washington on Maryland did or 3rd string freshman Carter Smith on Wisconsin.

He was pretty bad yesterday dude. The “he didn’t look terrible” narrative you’re pushing is silly.

I don’t think he’s a bad prospect or player because of one game because he’s such a natural thrower of the football but he hurt himself a lot yesterday. The pissy faces and horrible body language he displayed on the sideline was more alarming than the shitty play IMO.

He needs to go back to school.

Better now than after we draft him.

Somewhere Woodys reading this thinking “why not both?”

Moore was always a prospect that would need to sit his first season. He’s very young and inexperienced. By no means is he Zach Wilson, that’s a lazy and ignorant narrative. Zach Wilson played a season of cupcakes with no one in the stands. Moore led one of the best teams in the nation. He probably needs to stay in college one more year, I agree. But he was never goong to be an NFL starter next season.

Bottom line is the Jets would be fools to draft him at #2 or anywhere in the 1st round. That was proven out last night.

Moving this thread to NCAA forum and you guys can continue there. Let's use QB prospect thread to talk about Mendoza, Moore etc.

I used to make sick throws against a pretend defense in the backyard too! Pretty sure one of those throws was a SB touchdown for the JETS! THE CROWD GOES WILD!

Did you forget someone on that list when you gave examples of QBs they faced? A certain guy from Columbus? How did he do against this defense? lol. Try to be objective, you cannot bring up some sub they faced but forget about Sayin, who is one of the best College players in football right now, #4 in Heisman voting, who looked even worse, and only scored 10 points.

Could he benefit from another year? Sure. Could he also go to NFL and just not play right away. Absolutely! But again, going against top defense this was not a bad QB performance. Pick 6 was bad, but the other fumble inside the 5 where they effectively gave 7 points was 100% on the RB. Also, let's take away these 14 points from the defense (7 gifted by Dante, 7 by the RB), they did allow 42 other points. Oregon had no chance in this game.

And yes, he did hurt his stock, in my eyes also, and at the same time Mendoza elevated his throughout the play-offs, where it's clear to me Fernando is obvious #1 overall pick. I would not take Dante over him. But I would still take Dante at #2 at sit him for a while. There is too much to like.

Not gonna lie but I think I'm on board with this. He seems to have a live arm, his release is lightning quick, and his accuracy looks really good to me. He just has a lot of poise back there and makes really quick decisions. He impressed me the other night against Miami a lot.

Not saying he's at that level but he's got some Drew Brees to his game.
