If that was a college game with Ohio State or Alabama, the Patriots would’ve beat us 70-7 like we’re Tennessee Tech.
I have been down in relation to the Jets for a long time but I would still go into the offseason excited for the draft and hoping that things could get turned around - especially if we were going for a QB given how important that position - but after seeing sanchez, smith, darnold and wilson all flame out with the Jets and given the current setup I have absolutely zero belief that anything will improve in the foreseeable future.
That's the biggest issue for most of us, that sinking feeling of hopelessness that as bad as it has been in the past I haven't been to this stage of disappointment as a fan. The fact that reports say Woody is mad but he won't do a fucking thing to save this drowning franchise.
Exactly! It’s the hopelessness It’s like watching a ship just sink…you see it happening but there’s nothing you can do The saddest part is that the collective wisdom on this board runs fucking circles around Woody and his people. Why can we ALL (well I guess I should say MOST of us instead of ALL, but the couple of posters who defend Glenn don’t have any real tangible reasons other than “the roster sucks” even though the most important part of the roster at QB was Glenn’s chosen guy and even though mostly the same players played MUCH better even under UIbrech but certainly under Saleh) see that Glenn is a terrible HC and has to go? Shit, just even the fact alone that we are talking about Glenn in the same conversation as losers like Kotite and Gase should tell you something. But the utter hopelessness is the worst…I have always been on the optimistic side. No longer. I have ZERO confidence that Woody will figure anything out. I have zero confidence that Glenn will somehow figure it out and turn this around. And now we have to fucking watch the Patriots start another run, this time with Maye and Vrabel. We have still a bunch of years left of watching the Bills and Allen play well. And we are stuck in the mud because Woody is a fucking dumbass imbecile. There is no more hope here and that’s the worst part…
The worst part of listening to this that day (I did so on my jog so there is a small chance i missed this) was the zero mention of any consideration of bringing in another OC or "offensive coach helper" for Engstrand. We haven't even reached the helper stage of denial yet ffs. Which basically just rewinds the clock to 2023, and the same surrounding reality that we are going to be 100% invested in some belief that a historically terrible Nathaniel Hackett will somehow spearhead the offensive side of the ball revival here. Minus having a QB who at least had a notably higher floor then anything the Jets have a prayer of fielding in 2026, of course.
Watching the ship sink, perfect analogy. We are all watching this big ship try and turn but instead it's just spiraling into the abyss and all we can do is watch.
It's surreal that with all the head coaches that were fired the worst one of all is still employed & held a post 2025 press conference. The Jets were the worst team in football to close the 2025 season? Even the Raiders won their finale and nearly beat the Texans two weeks prior to that. SOJ.
