Honestly, I know it’s unusual, but I would actually not have a problem taking a QB at 2 either of whom doesn’t go first between Mendoza and Moore, and then if the circumstances warrant it, I’d be fine using a first round pick on a QB again in the next draft if the first guy shits the bed that bad. We have a lot of picks…we need a QB. Whatever it takes is my line of thinking
I may have misunderstood. But again, I do not see Fields/Zach in Moore and Mendoza. In case of Moore I see very much the opposite.
One thing to note with that is the Cardinals did that because Rosen was clearly lazy and uninterested in football and being great at it. He got pounded with the rich entitled lazy kid narrative after the draft was done. I think teams generally don’t do that because they don’t encounter things like that. A QB can be unsuccessful without being lazy or disinterested. With that being said, I hope the Jets have an open mind if they take a QB and he looks like dogshit next year. You don’t get all those picks to go two years and end up with EJ Manuel after 5 first round selections.
I was saying that with our luck, after months of debating which of the top guys we should take they'll both suck. I feel better about Mendoza than Moore but again... who knows. 2021 is when I gave up trying to figure it out. I don't care who we draft, just get it right.
While it may be unorthodox I see scenarios where that may very well happen. Assuming the Jets are drafting at or very near the top in ‘27 then most likely there is a new regime in place. Whoever the Jets had drafted in 26 did not look very impressive and the new regime could very easily opt for a new QB first pick, especially in a draft with all those QBs….. If jobs are on the line any consideration of fandom is out the window.
I don't know if I would take two in the same draft. I would be happy if our coaches developed/not ruined 1 rookie QB, but to give two rookies might completely overwhelm them. Besides, now days QBs get pushed up so much, there are not too many success stories lower than top of round 2. Which is why a young veteran AND a 1st round draft pick is the way to go IMO. Kinda like what Minny did when they got Sam and McCarthy. Only if that young veteran becomes a legit Pro Bowl QB, think twice before dumping him.
Here is some Dante Moore all 22 from last game against Texas Tech, top defense in the nation. @JackBower, you've been waiting for that one. With the podcaster commentary of course. The podcaster being Chase Daniels former NFL QB, who actually called that game live on ESPN Radio. Chase says Moore can go #1.
I mean i still think it is not a clear cut thing Mendoza goes 1. Maybe he wins tomorrow and Moore is mediocre and that seals it but there is lots to consider between them both. Moore seems pretty mature and a chill dude even at 20. Can he command a room or offense that stuff is determined once you do the whole process.
Moore would be an idiot not to declare for the draft. He's probably the second pick this year, whereas if he stays in school, he could drop out of the first round entirely, which has happened multiple times in recent years. Also, of the three top QBs who failed with the Jets, Darnold was the only one who the Jets actually ruined. The Jets put Sanchez in a very good situation, and Wilson would have been awful regardless of where he ended up. And Darnold's doing well now, so the Jets didn't ruin him permanently.
When Indiana played Oregon earlier this season, Mendoza won the head-to-head matchup individually and team-wise. He also did it on the road in one of the toughest environments and they were the underdog, lower ranked team at the time.
I love this Chambliss kid. I’m all for drafting him with our Colts pick. But I’ve been told here that he’s a dwarf and not an NFL quarterback.
It's ok we will be taking a QB in 2027 in the top 5 sadly. Good news is I hear next years class is loaded.
PTSD! But agree, I don't trust any of them either now. Best is to watch as much as you can, ideally every snap. Here are some and you can search for Fernando Mendoza too there: https://www.youtube.com/@CamCutUps/search?query=dante moore https://www.youtube.com/@NPCutups/search?query=dante moore I have bunch of full games also, but can't upload them unfortunately, like the Texas Tech one. It will probably be available some time soon on these sites. As you watch keep in mind when they were played. I felt that Moore actually improved as time went by. Tomorrow's game should be really good also, considering they already played before. Indiana has really good defense also, only allowed 10.3 ppg.
its about time he did and it wasn’t the D carrying him. Still like Trinidad a lot even with the height limitations
