Most hilarious part is they didn't live stream it lol, they live stream every single press conference yet this one they didn't because all the comments would be damning.
Not sure why Glenn just seems so damn arrogant. He’s stand-offish to the media and now he’s stand-offish to the fans.
Mougey seems comptent but AG... I have confidence in myself! Really, you have the worst team in the league you boob... you have confidence, you have a plan. Costello last question was an out for this idiot and he muffed like he did this year. At least Mougey may counter this dimwits tendencies but I have absolutely no faith in this guy's ability to set the direction and execute it. Irrespective of what some players said supporting him and his vision - what the hell do you think they are gonna say ,... he sucks?
✨ Once upon a time, in the big green land of football, two important grown-ups — Coach Aaron Glenn and General Manager Darren Mougey — stood before a circle of curious scribes and cameras. They had just finished a very long season with the New York Jets. Coach Glenn spoke first, with a warm voice like a story about trying again tomorrow. He said the season didn’t go quite the way they hoped — it was tough, like a game with lots of challenges — but he still believed in the heart of his team. He asked the fans to trust in the journey, to keep their belief strong like a superhero’s cape fluttering in the breeze. GM Mougey then stepped up, with a confident smile and plans like puzzle pieces waiting to be put together. He explained that even though this year was tricky — like a storybook chapter with bumps in the road — they were already talking, planning, and thinking about how to make next season better. They would look at all the pieces — the rookies, the veterans, and especially the quarterback position — to find the best fit for the team’s future. Together, they promised to be bold but careful, to listen and learn, and to work hard in the offseason so the Jets could grow strong again. They said they believe the team can be competitive and respectable — like a little engine trying hard to climb the hill — and that they are excited for the next adventure. ✨ And then, with hopeful hearts and big dreams for next year, they waved goodbye to the cameras — promising that the story wasn’t over yet, and the next chapter just might be their best one. /gpt
Just watched it… Came away more impressed with Mougey than with AG for sure…Mougey seems like he knows what he’s doing…I thought last year’s draft was pretty good, no spectacular players and no probowlers or ROTY candidate, but it was a solid meat and potatoes draft especially the first two picks in Membou and Taylor…we’ll see how the corner does, and Arian Smith was a wasted pick so far, but may have a chance to improve with better QB play I guess. I didn’t love trading away two all pro’s as I still don’t think you get better by letting good players go, hoping that you can draft a guy who will be as good as the ones you let go. Still…hard to argue with the return we got and this team does need a lot of talent. So proof will be in the pudding…but it feels like Mougey understands trades, free agency, now he just needs to hit on the boatload of picks we have coming up…JD talked a good game and I agreed with his philosophic approach but he just botched most of his picks outside of the one great draft he had with Sauce, GW and Hall. So we’ll see what Mougey’s philosophy is…what holes he tries to fill in free agency vs. what he leaves for the draft, most importantly at QB…I think we just need to cut all three guys, get a vet who we can put out there either in free agency if there are any such guys (may not be) or some kind of low- to mid-level trade, and then probably go draft a QB. We’ll see, but he needs to nail these next two drafts if we’re to have any hope. AG just sits there and says “trust me”, and “I’m confident” and all this bullshit but doesn’t have any concrete thing to say. He expects the fans to trust him based on what exactly? Some coaches you listen to and they can recall specific plays and what exactly went wrong or right, they can talk specifically on X’s and O’s, etc. You just hear them speak and you know they KNOW the game. Belichick was a great example of this, but so is Reid, so was Parcells, etc. AG doesn’t do that…he sticks to his generic “brand” or “process” or whatever, but gives you no insight into any of it. The only thing I’ll say is that last question when he was asked if he overestimated the roster when he got here, and his response was no I’m not gonna say that, I’ll just put it on me…not blaming the players or the coaches, it’s on me. Wow. That may be the first time I’ve heard him say that, and yeah for SURE it’s on you dude! But still…sorry, I’m not sold on him as an HC. I get that we are stuck with him next year, and I hope he improves, and I would expect he would after a rough rookie year and hopefully with some more talent on board after free agency and hopefully a great draft. But I don’t think he’ll be the guy…too much went too wrong this year…a better coach would not have put up what we saw this year with this roster.
If AG says "trust me" "faith" or "don't let go of the rope" one more time he can fuck right the fuck off.
