Here's where my disconnect sits. Respected NFL people, not 2 years ago, were talking about how talented the Jets roster was. Entire roster. Not just Hall, Wilson, Q, Gardner and a couple others. ROSTER. This argument that Glenn had nothing to work with this year is bullshit. Many of these players we considered ascending or, at the very least, GOOD NFL caliber players. Some were even saying such things at the end of last year even after the firing of Saleh. What I do not understand is the argument of how bringing on Fields just clipped the defense. Ok, the offense was putrid. Well...this coaching staff didn't coach to the existing player's skill sets, which is what GOOD coaches do instead of trying to shoehorn their players into a system they aren't designed to run. It has been talked about, on constant repeat, that Fields was not used to his strengths and we all saw it. Considering Hall was and still is the BEST offensive player on the team, that kid should be closer to what McCaffrey and Bijon are doing. Not squeezing out a paltry 1,000 yd. season in game 16. That kid should be approaching over 2,000 yds. in total offense. But let's put Fields and all that on the back burner for now. Fields has got NOTHING to do with that defense. Wilks, long time DC in the NFL. Glenn was a pro bowl CB IN the NFL. Coupled with performing as a defensive coach of some flavor or variety on a few teams, last being DC in Detroit and this is the kind of shit they trot out? Implementing a system that, clearly, wasn't to anyone's strengths. Basically, outside of one or two players, the same group of men that were a SHELL of the 2024 unit. Do you really want to know what put the nail in Glenn's coaching coffin for me? It was Glenn throwing Wilks under the bus, right or wrong, and following that up with, "I intended to keep my hands off the defensive side of the ball." Ummm...YOU are the HEAD COACH! If you have knowledge, schemes, skills sets...whatever...and you just let your hand pick coordinator flail in the wind followed by "it wasn't me" comments. Boy howdy, good luck getting a head gig ever again...at any level! That's not how it's done. That is about 180 degrees AWAY from accountability as it gets. "Sorry team, I'm the Head Coach so I'm not going to put my $.02 in on the defensive game plan, scheme or execution, well, because it's Steve's job." Are you shitting me? I can't even begin to count how many times Head Coaches either take over or increase their input to "their side of the ball" when it's needed. Not this guy. Accountability 101 - no matter how BAD it is, you NEVER, publicly, throw your own people under the bus. It certainly gives me an understanding as to why it feels like he's lost that team. Lethargic, looking like they don't want to be on the field. Giving up on plays. The list goes on and on. Some of you may be O.K. with that bullshit but I'm not.
I know people, including dummy Woody point to QB as the reason for all problems, but you cannot argue with any sort of intelligence why the defense is so bad when you brought back 8 starters. And even QB, I mean Glenn wanted Fields. Now people say he is worse than Zac, but Pitts made the same offer we did and it was quadruple of what Zach got. Bob won 7 with Zach and was 2-3 with Rodgers last year before he got fired, and you bet your ass these two games were not won by STs. STs lost us games last year. Plus we had Taylor too. These are no excuses, there are just none for Glenn. But expect Woody to say we did not have a QB. Same exact shit he said when he didn't fire Bob after 2023, which cost us Vrabel. Two things can be true at the same time: we don't have a QB and the coach stinks. It literally just was two years ago!!! Woody is just so fucking dumb.
How about a New Year's resolution of less ranting and some constructive analysis beyond firing coaches? It would be easier to follow this site. See you guys in the spring.
Wasn't sure if this was posted but it's the perfect article for Glenn truthers to get a better understanding of what is going on here lol, good write up by Nania, basically reinforced most of our feelings. https://jetsxfactor.com/2025/12/30/jets-fans-regret-firing-glenn/
That is not a news "article", it is the opinion of one guy with no credentials. If you want to make a case for canning Glenn, Nania is the last person to go to for support. He should be admired, however, for the highly selective contortions and gymnastics he will put himself through to attempt to "prove" his own opinions are correct. What, in your opinion, makes Nania's slant so special? Did you believe it when his self-written bio on XFactor said he was the smartest guy commenting on the Jets?
It’s not a news article but it is interesting that of the list of one and done coaches, none have gone on to success afterwards, at least not as head coaches. Not that any of those has much bearing on Glenn specifically, but I do think that there is something to the talk track of “if they are struggling badly enough to lead to a one and done possibility discussion, there’s probably good reason for it”… With me, it’s not so much that we’ve only won three games as I didn’t expect many wins this year anyway, but it’s just how badly we’ve played, how we’ve been blown out of games so early (and we had a few games earlier in the season where we got garbage time points that made the final scores not seem as bad as the games actually were), how both sides of the ball have totally stunk, how players that were decent if not all pro (hello Quincy) look so bad now under AG, so many red flags here.
I think Interim Coach Ulbrich did a better job than Coach A.G. has this season and he was nothing to write home about.
Some people are saying this could be Buffalo's year. To me one and done looks like a very real possibility for them. Let's say Coach McDermott shakes loose the Jets are going to stand pat do nothing? We're going to swear allegiance to Coach A.G. who fn sucks beyond belief? If Coach A.G. were to get fired after one seaosn how many teams out there would be rushing to name him their next head coach?
The crazy thing is, how can our head coach be the head coach and I’m pretty sure if he gets fired he wouldn’t even be a DC in this league… it’s crazy to think…
No, definitely not a news article. However, what I liked about it was he has his opinion and a very lucid explanation as to how he arrived at his opinion. My opinion about Glenn being one and done is this: As a year goes on your team should be getting better. Whether that be significantly or marginally better, you shouldn't have to scour the stats to find the improvements they should be evident to the naked eye. In this guy's case my naked eye is telling me they have gotten worse. Not marginally worse but significantly worse and the stats bear that out to the tune of records falling. NFL records that have been around for a century or more. Mayo didn't break those records. Frank Reich didn't break those records. No, Aaron Glenn broke those records. He talks about accountability. That's a laugh. The penalties are "marginally" better but it's how he handled Wilks and the defense which is my problem. Not that he fired him. It's the level of bullshit surrounding it. He is the Head Coach. A HC from the defensive side of the ball. This horse crap about not inserting himself on that side of the ball, wanting to focus on being a HC. Well, I have news for him. BECAUSE that is his side of the ball it is INCUMBENT upon him to do whatever it takes to help fix what he knows. To let the defense languish while standing on his "soap box" about being the HC and independent of both is a fucking joke. HE is NOT accountable. As far as I'm concerned, that is the end of the story. Period. This "article," or "opinion," as it were nails it. The ONLY reason NOT to fire Glenn is the "worry" that we're letting something special go. My ass. Aaron Glenn is going to have a VERY hard time finding anything above a position spot from this point on. You can write that shit down. He SHOULD have stayed in Detroit and learned how to be a defensive coordinator, which he wasn't all that good at. Of course, this all goes right to Johnson but why beat that drum, that drum has been beaten to death. Nope, time to move on from Glenn. If the continuity were going to be good it's one thing but continuity for continuity sake, as shitty as it appears, is not only futile but pure stupidity in it's most basic form. I'm done talking on the subject. For you people who WANT him to stay, good luck with that. I, and others, will be happy to throw your posts in your faces next year, at this time, if he's still the HC of the Jets because I can sit here and damn near 99.99% GUARANTEE you we'll all be whining the same damn things. Yeah, miracles do happen just not to the NY Jets.
Zero He MAY get a shot at DC again but even that may look tough as his Detroit defenses weren’t consistently good and were never great, and his defense here sucks…the Detroit weaknesses were overlooked because that team won with a great offense, but there’s no hiding the stink here. None of the coaches we’ve fired have gone on to success…Herm sucked at KC, Mangini didn’t coach again (maybe due to snitching out Belichick in spygate?), Rex sucked at Buffalo, Bowles went on and had success if you can call it that, but he’s been winning divisions with barely .500 records, and if he wins this weekend he’d be winning it with a losing record…I don’t think he’s very good he is just smart enough to be in a division that’s sucked for a lot of years), Gase will never coach again, and Saleh is back coaching a great D (which he could always do) in SF…of all of them, I’d say he probably gets a second chance down the road if he keeps that SF defense playing lights out. If he succeeds or not will depend on his situation if he gets another chance. So yeah, no I’m not worried that AG would go on to huge success if we were to fire him…he’d be the first to do so….
