The Jets had Kotite, so the bar for worst coach ever is really high (low?). But Glenn isn't an NFL caliber head coach and never was. If he were actually a great candidate who had a bad first year, I'd argue differently. But he was a below average defensive coordinator who Woody hired because the Lions won a lot despite him, and Woody thought hiring a former Jet player would be cool.
I love the guy who’s telling us we need to give Aaron Glenn more time as a coach sees one INT and immediately declares he’s terrible
I honestly think Gase was the worst coach I've ever seen and it's not really close. Is he even associated with the NFL anymore? I doubt it. That said, no one expected the Jets to be more than a 5 or 6 win team this year. Glenn underperformed but so did the entire organization. And who is going to win with the worst QB room in the NFL? No coach including Belichick or Walsh. And finally, if you want Glenn gone so bad after only one season, then it better be a surefire proven winner to replace him with. If you replace him with some unproven coordinator that just wreaks of not having a clue how to build any type of consistent unit. The merry-go round just continues. I have no problem getting rid of Glenn IF we're getting a proven winning HC. Otherwise it's a completely lateral move to fire him now for some unproven entity who will get eaten alive in NY.
And the missed wide open TD pass and the other completely whiffed wide open first down in the red zone.? I guess you missed those? Watch the game dopey and stop acting like the INT was the only crack in the armor. If you like Moore so much, then just say it, the passive aggressiveness is lame.
I’m completely fine with your take on Moore, I just find your blindness to Glenn being an awful Head Coach a little funny and ironic. You had a whole season of Glenn being a total liability as a HC yet he gets excuses and a pass.
I would be fine if the Jets moved on from Glenn for McCarthy. Other than that, I can't get onboard with firing a guy after one season when the team has no QB and when people want him fired for a coordinator/first-time coaching hire. That I can't get behind.
Gase was an awful coach, but he was a very good play designer. That’s why Manning loved him. He understood the depths of offensive strategies. His problem is he didn’t have the personality or leadership qualities to be a HC. Aaron Glenn has zero traits of what’s needed to be a good HC. He’s maaaybe a decent motivator, but he’s not a defensive genius by any stretch, he’s atrocious at game management, he’s atrocious at establishing a gameplan, he’s atrocious with the press, and he doesn’t have any sort of “brand” or principle. He’s tempermental hot air at best, and waffling full pf shit at worst. I personally wouldn’t want Glenn as a DC or even as a DB coach, much less HC. He’s a classic example of “oh shit we fucked up” such as Jared Mayo, Antonio Pierce, Freddie Kitchens….
Let's be clear on the Manning thing, that was nothing more than Peyton being a nice guy when he endorsed him here. I remember that whole thing well. Peyton Manning was Peyton Manning well before Adam Gase could take any credit for being associated with him in anyway, Gase needed a lot more than leadership to ever be even a decent HC in the NFL. He was disastrous. His play calling was absolute shit too and he was some supposed offensive "guru". The irony. It's no surprise that Gase is now a part of that 33rd team scam. That's very telling. Anyways, the whole franchise has done a horrible job. They need to build a capable NFL roster immediately. That should be their main priority this offseason.
I don’t know how to say it any clearer though… HE chose this QB. He had AR and let him go (and I do get the rationale) but then fucking CHOSE Fields. You can’t give him a pass that his QB sucks so don’t expect anything when HE CHOSE THE QB. Why is this so hard to comprehend?
100% Peyton MADE Gase. just like Rodgers MADE Hackett Both QBs are hall of famers, they were so before those two loser coaches hitched their name to their coattails and they continued to be the same great players (accounting for age) after those coaches moved on. This was clear to anyone with a brain, except Woody of course.
