Ravens and Steelers are playing this Sunday on SNF. Rumor has it, the loser of this game might shake loose from their team.

First, do you see this happening? If yes, then do you see any chance for the Jets to sign the head coach shaking loose?

If one of them become available I'm all for it. John H sort of feels like fools gold though. He had an all time defense then an all time qb that he has not won with. He's a good coach but his timing was great.

I don’t think either of them are coaching anywhere next year if they get let go after this season. I’d guess both take a deep breath and a year off to do some TV and decide what they want to do.

To put it in perspective, Tomlin’s oldest kid was 6 when he became a head coach, youngest was just born. Almost all three are out of college now. I could see taking some time off like Sean Payton did.

Baltimore is going to win that game. I’d be very surprised if Pittsburgh wins. So then we’re talking Tomlin.

I like Tomlin a lot, even personally, he’s a good man. And a good coach. But I don’t see him as someone who comes here and “builds” the Jets at this stage in his life

and yeah. He’s gonna be attracted to the Jets bare bones roster and that wallflower Darren Mougey? Yeah right.

The only way anyone is coming here is if Woody gives them a bag and then steps back. Neither of those things is gonna happen.

There have been rumours around Tomlin ever since Big Ben retired - it would be great but I just don't see it ever happening.

I thought the same thing about Andy Reid when he left PHI. The reality is great coaches like to coach. These guys don’t want years off.

Giants are being presented as a better option for these guys and I don't disagree much due to Dart, Nabers, Skattebo and their guys on defense. But Jets have over 100 million in cap space along with 8 picks in the Top 50 next 2 years. If Jets throw some money at the coach, no reason why we shouldn't land either one of them. Problem is Woody. He is always a year or two too late.

I think it’s more likely Harbaugh seeks another opportunity rather quickly. He’s 64.

I definitely think Tomlin at 53 takes a break if he’s let go. He’s also been under fire for a long time there. That weighs on a guy.

I also think it’s more likely that the Ravens retain Harbaugh and try to trade Lamar than letting him go. While I think the Steelers almost definitely try to move on from Tomlin for better or worse.

No and yes would be more appropriate. :) I believe one of them will shake loose but they won't want to work for Woody.

Most likely option is no HC moves. But, I do think Tomlin is more under the gun and a loss Sunday could put added pressure on him. Bringing in AR had a bunch of added expectations and not making the playoffs might put both of them in Jeopardy. As for the Ravens the marriage between JH and LJ might comes to and end with one of them out . My gut says LJ gets traded. It will be fun to see who the interested parties are.

If the Jets were somehow in position to hire either of them, it would be the best thing to happen since Parcells.

Neither of them are coming here.

They've been successful in this league over a period of time. If/when they are available to make a move, they will have options. People who are as accomplished as they are who also have options won't choose to come here.

As I read the comments I find it sadly humorous that, when fans here recommend a good coach the first reaction is “ Oh hell no, they would never come here” and when we get a coach the reaction is “ Oh hell he sucks and he is another DC. Have we not learned anything, we should have gotten so and so”.
Wait, what? You mean the same so and so OC that never wanted to come here in the first place and say went to Chicago, with a top QB and far better ownership, for example. Or Denver, same reason, different HC, or you name it.
One can only surmise that we are absolutely screwed in our ability to capture top talent under Woody regime. Partially because of his capability to select the right talent, but more importantly, and I can’t quite put my finger on it, there seems to be a real bad aura around the entire Jets organization that scares the top talent especially since we moved to MetLife. I know it sounds laughable, but is like no matter what we do it turns to shit within the first half of every season. Sorry for venting. Happy New Years. Hope I’m dead wrong.
