I'm going to have to disagree with you. Yes, it IS an escape from life's troubles however, what are you escaping to? With the Jets you are escaping to frustration, anger, pain, sorrow...where's the fun, joy, exuberance? Now, if you were escaping to the 49'ers or Chiefs or Patriots or, hell, insert any name that actually has a winning season in the last 2 decades you might be on to something. Love the line, delivered by Greg Kinnear, in "Invincible - the Vince Papale Story" when talking to his Iggles. "You are who the people turn to when times are bad, let's win one for them." NONE of that applies to the NY fucking' Jets. NONE of it.
