Yep. They just got dismantled by the Saints a week ago. I can't imagine they'd do any better against the Bills' 2nd string.
the Jets will almost certainly win next week because Allen won't play and the Bills will rest a number of starters - it will be like 4 quarters of garbage time which is when the Jets shine.
Agreed but the Raiders are fucking atrocious especially without their best two players. It’s close. I think the Giants and Browns have way more talent on their teams than the Jets and Raiders do.
Trubisky will put up 30 points on us. Our D can’t stop a cold never mind the Bills back ups. My high school team makes fun of me religiously for being a Jets fan….Man o man I’m going to get chirped…
Right now the Bills play the Pats in Foxboro, a win and Houston or Charger loss and they could be playing Jax or Pittsburgh, maybe even Baltimore. I think Allen will be playing
This blows my mind on how bad we actually are. We need these 2 picks to be starters and at least 3 pro bowlers…
The problem is that for us to be tied, they have to beat the divisional opponent and we have to lose to one. Meaning after these two games their SoS will weaken and ours will strengthen. And for the purposes of SoS divisional rivals count double since they play two games inside the division. And they are already ahead. It's not impossible, but it is very unlikely for them to lose a tie breaker unfortunately. I hope you are right and this somehow works in our favor but the probability is low. Still if the Raiders win, the Giants might get ahead of them, which is also good for us. But it does not look like we can jump from #3 up, unless the Giants win again. Speaking of the Bills, we still need to make sure we lose and ideally get blown out, as the momentum to fire Glenn is building. I hope they will still play full strength for the seeding, but it might have been better for us if they actually got that two point conversion.
There is a path for us getting past the Raiders, but it's a doozie: Bills > Jets Raiders > Chiefs and 3 out of these 4: Chargers > Broncos Falcons > Saints Bucs > Panthers Pats > Dolphins
The most Jets scenario is the Bills rest their starters, the Jets win and fall to the 7th pick, Woody is so giddy over the win he keeps Glenn, Mougey trades up for Ty Simpson, and one but not both of Glenn and Mougey gets fired after 2026, ensuring the Jets job is unpalatable for anyone this side of the ghost of Brandon Staley.
Not impossible. I just don't see the Raiders winning vs KC. Their HC may be the only one worse than ours, and they are trying to tank openly. I would be shocked, but still hoping. The Bills are a little concerning, hopefully they will try to win for the seeding. I think if we end on a blow-out, something might just snap in Woody. At least I hope so. All we can really do is hope.
I'm open to having my mind changed, but as of now, assuming we stay at the #3 pick, I think we should probably sit pat at #3 or even trade down a bit. If we stay at #3 and want a QB, we'll probably have to trade up with the Giants. Given that I don't love any of the non-Mendoza QBs, I think this would be a massive mistake. We're almost certainly going to suck again next year, but this plan at least gives us a chance at building a sustainable winner and not squandering another 2-3 years trying to figure out if an overdrafted young QB is the guy. The only way we're not going to suck again next year is if we fire Glenn and upgrade significantly at HC.
Watch more of Moore, starting with all 22 I gave, and also look at something similar for Mendoza, maybe your mind will change . I don't think they are far apart and Moore exceeds him in some areas, plus 2 years younger. My view is, let's secure #3 first, get blown out and fire Glenn. If the Giants are #2, we might need to trade up unfortunately. But going from 3 to 2 should not cost THAT much. Ideally though the Giants love non QB and we draft Moore with 3 naturally. We need to grab one of Mendoza or Moore, and I do not consider this over drafting, pretty much everyone has them at #1 or 2,starting with Kiper, who actually has Moore at 1.
Last time the Giants were at 2, it worked out ok for us when they took Barkley and we took Darnold at 3 Let’s hope something like that can happen again However, Glenn NEEDS to go. Period. ANYONE can see it. I’m really hoping the Bills blow us out like the Pats did as that’s the only thing I think could get Woody to fire him. And THEN….of course, we need to also hope that IF Woody fires Glenn, that he actually hires a better coach…an offensive coach. It’s a lot of hoping And like I always say, you can always count on Woody making the WRONG decision. This would require Glenn to suck one more game, which I am sure he is more than capable of doing, but then it requires Woody making two good decisions…first, fire Glenn, second, hire a good offensive HC. I don’t think Woody has two good decisions in him.
There is almost no mathematical possibility, calculating out every opponent each has played throughout the season, too many games that help the Jets SOS also helps the Raiders. Because many of the Jets opponents losing has too many of their other opponents winning. Calculated out with best combinations, Jets SOS drops from .548 to .540, meanwhile Raider SOS drops from .542 to .536. Of course there are so many different ways for it to play out and the difference between Jets .540 and Raiders .536, equates to overall opponent records of 156-133 and 155-134, so maybe I missed a game but I think I had calculated best possibilities. Damn close though. Yes, I had insomnia tonight. Jets best hope now is Giants beating Dallas so they get the number 2 with of course the Jets also losing.
Honestly I would LOVE a trade down from 2/3 to 10/14 pick up a first this year plus a first next year and a second and third this year. So we end up with 6 first rounders for ammo. Then we take 3 of the first rounders, the Colts this year plus two next year and trade for Joey B. (and add a few mid rounders) But this isn't madden so I expect we go QB or trade up to #1 because Woody.
The Raiders are also in full on tank mode and they will secure the #2 overall. The question becomes who do they take at QB? Tank Commander Glenn has done a masterful job getting this roster up to the #3 overall position when not long ago, we were 5th. Lets hope they don't fck it up by trading the house to move up to take Mendoza. I'm also on board with a trade down to stockpile more picks this year and next. This roster needs to be turned over completely except for a handful of guys. Goes for the CS too.
Only need the Giants to win, the Jets are locked into #2, assuming they lose. Bills are going to be pissed and they need a win for easier 1st round game.
