Glenn is coming back because we were tanking for the QB pick. We are literally playing Brady Cook on purpose. Let's evaluate Glenn and Mougey after an off-season to address the holes in our roster

Coaches and players don't tank, ever. What you see is what you get.

The shittiest part about their tanking is that for as awful as these past 4 weeks have been, they're not even getting the 1st pick and may not have any QB choices. It's definitely a low point

Hence why I was freaking out when we beat the Browns and Falcons. The NFL is a short season, every single loss matters when you're trying to get the top QB in the draft.

Now we're looking at the 2nd QB+ in a 1 QB draft after our worst season in the modern era. We'll also probably have to give up significant draft capital to even get the 2nd QB if we choose to go that route since the Giants are likely to shop their pick.

I’m just not gonna get low about us not getting the first pick. Would it be nice sure. But the QB position is so funny. Most these guys who are stars now weren’t picked first overall and some not even in the lottery/ first round. We just need to identify some guys who can play. Stick with our picks no trading up and draft one later in first or in the second whe the chips fall

This is where I'm at as well.

It's actually somewhat of a relief to not have it. With this coaching staff back next season, having them develop a QB taken that high in the draft would set this franchise back another 5 years, if not longer. Just hoping at this point that maybe they can hit on a couple of these picks with good skill position players on either side of the ball and then the new coach in 2027 can get his QB and have both of them start out on the same page.

Shanahan took the the last pick in the draft and made him a QB you can compete for a superbowl with…..

Coaching isn’t everything it’s the only thing you must have to compete in this league. No bad coaches compete for superbowls period.

Yeah but the problem is there will be A LOT of pressure to trade up if needed for a QB. That’s why this IS a very bad outcome…because if they want a QB, and they definitely need one, they will feel a need to trade up to get him..I’d be surprised if they stay at say three and pass on a QB when the Raiders take one and the Giants possibly trade out to a QB needy team…that would be a lot of faith in Mougey and his evaluations…it would probably be the right move, but I’d be surprised to see.

All that being said, if we run back AG again I really don’t think it matters much…whichever QB we end up taking either at pick 3 or whatever we end up with, or later, or trading up to the 2nd pick (I think the Raiders get the first pick and take a QB), will probably fail here, with this team, with this coach. I just don’t see AG being the guy.
