“A consummate professional”? Holy mother of stupid. Homer Simpson is about the level of professional Aaron Rodgers is. Arod happens to have elite athletic skills. Which have been deteriorating for years.
Anyone have post access? https://nypost.com/2025/12/25/sport..._share=twitter&utm_social_handle_id=589269098
I've been looking at Detroit this year, and they regressed quite a bit. A lot of talk how they turned things around, etc, but they made play-offs twice in 5 years with Campbell. And they did win the division and went once to conference finals, while losing right away the other time, so it's good of course, I will take it for the Jets, but still, is this the best example of a successful franchise that now should be replicated by everyone? Maybe, but I wanted to look at the numbers a little from last year. Offense 2024. Points 1st (by a wide margin). Yards: 2nd. Offense 2025. Points 4th. Yards: 6th. Defense 2024. Points: 7th. Yards: 20th Defense 2025. Points: 23d. Yards: 19th Detroit always won with their offense, we know that. And even last year in play-offs they scored a lot, but conceded 45 and lost. And on offense it is easy to see, they basically went from clear #1 offense to #5. Still very good, but maybe not good enough to win with just offense any longer. On defense the picture is a little muddied. They dropped from 7th to 23d in points, which is massive. But they are actually slightly better ranked yards. The difference is TOs. Last year they got some TOs. This year not so much. Is it because Glenn left and now they cannot take the ball away. I highly doubt it, given that Glenn is here and we are the worst in the League in that category. If you look at Glenn's entire tenure in Detroit, all 4 years, in both points and yards he is ranked pretty low, with the lone exception being last season in points, where he is #7. He is in 20s or 30th for both points and yards every time aside from that #7 last year in points. I think we have more evidence now to conclude that #7 may have been an aberration. The most logical explanation is that Detroit got more fortunate in takeaways in that specific year, which impacted the points number but not so much the yards conceded. This year Detroit got less fortunate with takeaways and also downgraded its bread and butter: offense, which explains the decline. If you look now at Glenn's body of work including the Jets and even Detroit's body of work, I think it is fair to conclude that Glenn is a below average/bottom 3d when it comes to defense. He is clueless on offense as well, we are at the bottom there too. We don't have a QB, but he is not an offensive guy anyway. He is a below average/bottom 3d defensive guy and has always been. Someone needs to tell Woody to get his head of his ass and rectify this situation without wasting a year.
I know the Lions have been a good story recently, but I just find it amazing that the Jets were bad long enough that they ended up trying to emulate the Detroit fkn Lions.
OK!!!!! This 1,000 times... I mean, factoring in the entirety of the NFL historically speaking, the Lions were bad decades BEFORE the Jets were even thought of. And THIS is the team we choose to "model" ourselves after?? Crazy...
He's not here. And what about next year? And who are those coaches who wanted him here? Your opinion is one man wide.
No, you are not! Within the next 191 minutes of writing this you went back and referred to Rodgers three more time on this thread alone; who knows how many times on others. I'm sure a bright guy like you can go find a Steelers forum for you to post on about your obsession with Rodgers.
