He could have been a phenomenal coach 30 years ago. But now, it's about Xs and Os. That's what wins. What's interesting, in one of the interviews a few days ago he said something like it is not about Xs and Os. He is just not the right guy for the modern times. He is trying to replicate Bill Parcells of the 90s. But there was no evolution. It's like we went back 30 years.

However, the fact the Jets sucked for 15 years does not matter. NE, which is considered one of the most successful franchises ever now, before Parcells and Belichick was one of the worst franchises in NFL. You just need the right guy and Woody keep hiring really the same wrong guy every time for 15 years now. With the exception of Gase who was even worse, failed offensive coach coming of 3 straight bad seasons on offense. If we get the right guy, things can change and they can change quickly like they did in NE back in the day.

I'm honestly still in disbelief that Woody hired yet another defensive HC in Glenn. I know I'm a broken record about this but it's utterly unbelievable at this point.

How can Woody admit our offense has been the main problem, as he did during the offseason, and then go and hire his 6th consecutive defensive HC? It's completely baffling.

Are we sure Kraft isn't paying Woody under the table to sabotage the team?

One would think that after realizing that offense was the problem, that he'd at least change course and try to hire an offensive coach. It's still amazes me that he has never hired an offensive coach the entire time he's been the owner of the team. Groh, Herm, Mangini, Rex, Bowles, Glenn.

As bad as the team was under Christopher Johnson, I'll at least give him credit for correctly diagnosing the issue that plagued this team and attempting to do something about it.

The only thing that makes sense is that Woody wanted Rodgers gone and that was the primary factor in determining who the next Jets head coach would be. All of the quality coaches likely wanted to keep Rodgers because who wouldn't? Look at him now, closing in on a division title and playoff berth because he has competent head coach around him.

The most telling thing is the Jets didnt even interview McCarthy. Its beyond obvious Woody wanted to get his way, and hire a coach that would dump Rodgers. Woodys high moment for 2025 was when Glenn wasted Rodgers time with the meeting. That was Glenns way of impressing Woody im sure. Now Woody gets to watch Rodgers in the playoffs. Ultimate karma by a stupid owner.

Why do you think all coaches but Glenn would want to keep Rodgers? He had one offer this offseason, and this was after Pitts tried to get Fields instead of him but couldn't. It just does not make sense. Again which coaches/GMs Woody interviewed said no to Woody when it comes to letting Rodgers go?

Here is one article that suggests pretty much everyone recommended to move on from Rodgers.

And I recall several interviews by Jake Asman or someone else of candidates who ultimately were not picked and they said also they would move on from Rodgers. It made sense, new regime, new start with someone younger. Again, I know YOU would keep Rodgers, but that wasn't what most people thought. Rodgers also got only one offer after Pitts went after Fields before that. The story you are trying to push that all the coaches said they want Rodgers, Woody didn't like it, and Glenn was the only one who said yes to Woody to let him go is a complete fabrication, it is made up. There is nothing there to support it, it's a figment of imagination.
