I’m not a huge Gruden-coach guy but this mess might need a Gruden type of personality. Love him as a commentator though. And he wants to shove it up the NFL’s ass.

What better way than making the Jets successful. The team the old head league officials have hated since 1969.

Which just makes my point, don't fire Glenn to do another search when majority of coaches don't want to come here.
Only fire him if you have a true upgrade proven coach locked in. Since that's unlikely run it back with Glenn

I am still pissed that Woody never picked up the phone and talked to Ben Johnson. Instead of creativity we get shit on a shingle. Merry fking Christmas.

"Just don't let go of the rope because there is a plan, there is a vision. From Day 1, we've been trying to set the foundation of what we want this team to be..."

Just a thought, if you have to continually say that there is a vision and that there is a plan, that probably means that there really isn't a vision or a plan.

Exactly. You never hear great coaches talking about plans or hanging on. They talk about winning every week. Period.

    Spot on.

Talking about effort levels is another one of these things. If a coach is preaching about how the team plays hard, it's because the team sucks and he's incapable of out-scheming other coaches.

A coach going on and on about how hard the team plays is also ridiculous because he's literally praising them for doing the absolute bare minimum that their job entails. It's like saying, hey, I'm awesome because I inspire my employees to give the bare minimum of acceptable effort at their job.

    I completely disagree.
Who are the highly sought after players the Jets signed in the last 20 years?
We sign old washed up QBs and O linemen.
Just because the media hypes up guys like Saleh and Bowles doesn’t mean they were highly sought after.

Sorry but not many players want to play for a loser and joke of a franchise unless they are getting overpaid above market value.

When is the last time we got a big name FA that it didn't feel like we overpaid by at least 20%?

Cmon that’s not fair though. Bowles and Saleh were hot ticket names in the head coaching market when we hired them. Both landed coordinator jobs instantly and Saleh will be a head coach again maybe even next year.

Gase wasn’t and neither was Glenn. They were bottom tier hires that had no other prospects.

As far as signing players, that’s generally how free agency works. Everyone signs players above market value because players are out to get as much as they can and the FA pool is generally light as franchises retain big time players.
