World’s first six-armed humanoid robot that promises 30% more output unveiled in China https://interestingengineering.com/ai-robotics/worlds-first-six-armed-humanoid-robot
When the robots start to destroy all humans are you going to show this to them like an offering of a shrine that tracked their progress in hopes they’ll spare you?

I think they're a few years away from this looking like anything more than a bad video game, but I'm looking forward to it.

Not necessarily automation-related, but I just don't see a flying car being something that self-drive is possible with for most of the buying population. @Sundayjack Flying cars take off: ‘World’s first’ airborne automobile finally in production — and its pricetag is soaring https://nypost.com/2025/12/15/lifes...ing-car-available-to-customers-by-early-2026/

Ahh the flying car dream. Nerds just loved to break my balls. The Jetsons made it seem so simple - free-flying cars and open skyways. The Fifth Element showed how that could never happen without some kind of stifling government point system. If I thought this would ever be commercially viable, I’d spend all next week inventing the sky tollbooth. Instead, I’m with you. I’ll sit back and wait for the next eat-the-rich uprising, when fatcats make a habit of coasting over gridlock, rush hour traffic.
Tech is developing so quickly right now that I don't even have any dystopian theories about stuff like this. I incorrectly figured that self-drive was a ways off until I got into a Waymo about a year ago. It's an odd thing, but the less predictable the world becomes, the less paranoid I become. I think it's because I don't even have time to envision the worst anymore.
Dumb article title, and I don't see how engineering a robot that does superhuman stunts will be more cost effective than CGI, but at least it's not AI slop like I've seen lately.
