I'm surprised this hasn't already been posted. I don't follow college ball, so I didn't even know that Jim Harbaugh was suspended the last 3 games of last season for sign stealing. Anyway, I tried to piece this together the last couple of days, and the whole thing is weird.

    1) Staffer's salary increases from $58K to $98K from last year. Rumors of an extramarital affair with Moore swirl, which Moore denies.
    2) Staffer breaks off relationship and informs the school of the affair. Sherrone Moore is fired effective immediately for "inappropriate relationship". Staffer is still employed.
    4) Sherrone Moore breaks into house of former mistress (staffer) and threatens to kill himself.
    5) Moore is arrested and charged with home invasion and stalking, released on $25K bond, must have no contact with victim, must wear GPS ankle band until further notice.

OK, so what the Hell went on here? Before or after someone says, "Never stick your dick in crazy", seriously, what went on here? Moore is married with 3 kids, and I'm assuming the affair was consensual. If fraternizing is a fireable offense and an affair reflects badly on the "image" of the school, why is he fired and she isn't? Was he terrorizing her? Threatening her? What gives?

They wanted to get rid of him. If he was 11-1 with a win over Ohio State, this gets covered up by the university.

It supposedly was known throughout the locker room and university for at least a year and a half. I’ve found some things said online that there were jokes in the locker room for over a year.

But they found a way to get rid of him and save $13 million of any sort of buy out if they fired him without cause. The perplexing part is his reaction after the fact if it seems like the university, players, coaches, etc. all had an idea this was going on.

He got the Mel Tucker treatment but instead of filing a lawsuit like a civilized human being he lost his mind.

Interesting @Jonathan_Vilma. The whole thing is off somehow regardless. There are rumblings of racism now. I read that as well as far as Wood's affair practically being an open secret. With $6 million in the mix, maybe even Wood's own wife knew. What's irritating is the way these schools posture as if they're some kind of bastion of morality. The whole "system" is rife with scumbags and scumbaggery, and football schools, the teams are like cults and the students are like rabid cult members who froth at the mouth. It's all very bizarre to me.

I'm not one of those "morally outraged" fakers. I was GENUINELY outraged with the Joe Paterno/Jerry Sandusky/Penn State scandal. I felt like I ate a bowl of drugs listening to the defense of Paterno and the school, as if Jerry Sandusky wasn't enabled. At all. The level of not only factual denial but the resistance of the Paterno cult (speaking of which) to blanket deny that ANY of it was true was insanity. The cherry on top was Paterno's son carrying on that it was a pack of lies to try to discredit his father, we've got our own experts, blah blah ==> DUDE! That whole human tragedy for those CHILDREN - not freaking Paterno's "besmirched" legacy and Penn State - was a microcosm of what goes on in FAMILIES. Deny, deny, deny. Gross.
