We know where the real problem is don't we.. Mougey and Glenn need to have a chat about replacing Wilks as DC. His unit is the worst on the team and always puts the offense in a hole before you can blink.
Wilks is terrible and should be fired this evening or tomorrow, but tackling at this level isn't a coaching issue. It's an effort issue.
it is kind of crazy - going into this game the Jets had 2 takeaways all season - I wonder if they will break the Niners season record of 7.
I just realized Bengals-Bills is on channel 5. Eh I'll stick with this one to the bitter end I'll switch to Bnegals-Bills when this one is over. If I'm still awake. Or if the Bengals-Bills isn't over yet.
The Fake Spike.... Every, friggin' time they have to show it. What's next, Don Shula's Mud Bowl in '83?
Well that's a possibility. I think an additional issue would be they're not taught how to tackle. It could be a technique issue which by definition, is a coaching issue.
Professional football players shouldn't need to be taught the fundamentals of tackling at this point. Maybe slight refinement of their skills in that area, but the complete lack of a clue of how to do it is not on the coaches, IMO.
CBS not going to show any replays today? Or just replays of the Jets getting humiliated over the past 30 years?
Sometimes, you do have to get back to basics. Even if these guys are pros, a refresher course never hurts and in this case, these guys have not shown they can tackle on a NFL level so... Take them all back to tackle school.
