For sure. People are scoffing at Kyler Murray, to me its like have you seen our QBs? We cant complete a pass Its like a homeless guy turning up his nose at a Subway sandwich
Zach Wilson is interesting. He was a #2 overall pick. I know he hasn't really found his footing in Miami, but he might just need a change of scenery.
Indeed but three teams ahead of us all seemingly require a QB as well. Which one of the Saints, Browns, Raiders and even the Titans may bite but I doubt they'd give up the #1
I just don’t like the player…the fact that SOMETHING was SO bad that the Cardinals felt they had to put a clause in the contract for the guy to study the playbook and be engaged or whatever the fuck it was is a bad sign. I’m reading this as a kind of where there’s smoke there’s fire here. He comes across as kind of a douche as well. I don’t know, the QB is too critical, and on a young team, I feel we need the exact opposite of his kind of personality. He hasn’t won anything, and while he’s a better QB than the other guys on the list, I just would rather look elsewhere. I would say hard pass on him regardless…I for SURE wouldn’t trade anything for him, but honestly I wouldn’t want him even if he was just cut. Not a guy I can root for honestly…
Yeah, it's murky waters right now. It's not clear who will declare, College play-offs and conf championships still left to play, draft order sorted. Right now it's too early to know anything. But generally I think Mooge wants to solve the QB problem as the highest priority, because it's the most important position, and he strikes me as a smart guy based on the moves he made. Which is why I don't think any move is off the table at the moment. All depends on the rookie, how much Mooge likes him, how much he has to give up, etc... But I agree, let's see how it plays out, way too early now.
Here's my issue with Murray, in a league where the QB position is PREMIUM and you have teams, like the NY Jets, talking about trading the farm to go up in the draft to get a "fair to middlan" QB such as Mendoza, who BTW, is a HUGE unknown, why in the flying ass would the Cardinals ever let Murray walk? Right or wrong on who he is or his work ethic, NONE of the QB's in this draft could carry this kid's jock and the Cardinals are going to let him walk? IMHO, where there's smoke there is surely fire. For the same reasons the Cardinals would let a talent like Murray walk is the exact same reasons why the Jets need not apply. For all intents and purposes, it "appears" Glenn has his team pointed North. If nothing more, they play exceptionally hard for him and have bought into what he's selling. It's taken 3/4ths of the season to get there but it looks like that particular "shark has been jumped." Why in the bats ass hell would you want to bring a non-leader type QB into the fold of a team loaded with super young players? His attitude, lack of work ethic (as reported all over the place and for years) are NOT what needs to be on display to the youngsters. It would do more damage than good, as far as I'm concerned. This whole "Call of Duty" thing or whatever seems to me to be an example of what he chooses to do vs. bury his nose in a playbook or go study his opponents. Many are correct, I know tons of people who game all night long, come in and do their job with no problems. Difference is, none of those people are getting paid millions of dollars to be the QB of a damn NFL franchise where every single snap MEANS something. Where everything he does impacts 42 other men, coaches and their families. Not to mention all the people who work in the Cardinals building who's jobs are on the line based on a team winning. And winning means having a QB that gives a damn, which, from what I've been able to tell, from afar, Murray doesn't seem to particularly give a damn. I could be wrong but, hey, just like everything else in life, perception is reality. That and the record over the last bunch of years bears that out. With the amount of talent Murray has they should be doing much, MUCH better. Just saying. I'd rather go for a middle of the road vet to pilot our team while they work on getting their own rookie QB into the fold, whatever that bears out to be. Just my $.02...
Not to jinx anyone but there's enough football to be played that injuries could also alter the QB landscape well before draft day.
Eh I mean they’re not exactly the Green Bay Packers in terms of how well the organization is run. They’ve made the playoffs less times than we have since 2000 even though it includes that wild 2008 SB run.
I'd rather have a gamer QB than an old cunt who takes himself off to a dark cave to get drugged off his head and claim it is all spiritual or indeed just the normal run of the mill sex pester or again stoner or even a pissed up drunkard
This is completely under the control of the Jets. Trade up to get the guy you want. That assumes you know the guy you want, and he's good. But nothing we can do about that.
With the right coach and QB, anything is possible. Even the Cards can go to the SB. (except the Jets. Nothing can save the Jets.)
The name sounds familiar. Is that a Polynesian fellow who banged his mom's best friend? Much respect!
If your considering signing a vet long term you gotta ask yourself, "is this a guy that can win the SB?" Otherwise, whats the point?
Well, it's really under the control of the teams ahead of us in the draft, 3 of them quite possibly also need a QB if so they will not be trading, unless the Jets do dumb Jets things and severely over pay to move up. Let's hope we aren't that dumb for a change.
If we are signing a vet to somehow impart some knowledge to a rookie then my preference would be to sign someone who isn't an 'improvisational' quarterback or an INT machine. I'd rather have a noodle-arm than a QB with unteachable instinct. Also, if we trade up in the draft, fuck this team - see who is left on the board at the Indianapolis pick and sit them for a year.
