I think he's off his rocker. It was probably more like Quinnen + a 1st for Micah if anything.

Gotta hand it to old Jerry though. I thought he was dumb for “brainlessly” hiring Schottenheimer, I thought he was dumb for trading away Parsons and I thought he was dumb for trading FOR Pickens.

As of today they look like pretty good moves all of them, in addition to Quinnen Williams

Man there’s a whole lot going on here.

First, Joe Douglas was fired in the middle of last season, this happened in training camp.

Second, after Q actually did get traded to Dallas there was a very similar report from Connor Hughes where he said Jerry Jones offered us Parsons for Quinnen Williams and picks. Not Parsons and picks for Q. Old man Jerry either is losing it or very purposely lied. Either are plausible, I’m going with the second one.

Third, even if that were true it would make absolutely no sense to pay a pass rusher $40 million per year when you are at the very beginning stages of a rebuild.

but again none of this matters because it’s not real.

I don't think Jerry has a lot of do with the operations side of the house anymore, although he sure likes to take credit for everything. Will McClay is the dude that makes the brain moves there I think.

JD deserves to be shat on for many things, probably the worst and most damaging GM in Jets history, but he is not at fault for this. He wasn't here before the season, and we had credible reports it was Q+1st for Parsons. Jerry is just trying to hype up Q a little bit and maybe put down Parsons. Or just doesn't know what he is talking about at this point of his life. But in no world could ANY GM offer 26 year old Parsons still on his rookie deal AND a 1st for 28 year old Q. That is just fake news, as simple as that.

What really happened is Jerry offered 3 1st round picks for Allan Lazard, but Moogs wanted their 2026 and 2027 2nd round picks too

Good point about it not being on JD because he was gone. My mistake.

Jerry could be lying, but "credible reports" don't overrule it coming from the actual horses mouth.

People here think Parsons was a more valuable player than Q?

the horse’s mouth means nothing when the horse is Jerry Jones.

It's not even what WE think, that's what his value was. He was in fact traded for two 1sts and Kenny Clark, who is a solid starting DT. Heck to get a 1st and a 2nd for Q is pretty close to a fantasy, but imagine we do this deal and flip Parsons to GB for what he went, and get a total of three 1st round picks and a good DT starter for Q. That my friend, is fantasy land. Which may be where Jerry Jones lives now, but the point being: this trade is just not real, no matter what he says.

It’s just Jerry patting himself on the back for both trades and pumping his new player up. Complete nothingburger and thoroughly false. It defies football logic that that trade offer would be on the table given the ages of the player and contract situation.
