They need to make a change so that proper evaluation of the other players, and coaches, can take place. It’s hard to evaluate receivers and the O-line, and the play caller, when the QB holds the ball forever, can’t make basic throws, and is playing as poorly as he is playing. They also need to sign another QB so that Cook doesn’t have to go into a game this year. Sending him out there with this supporting cast would be setting him up for certain failure.
Agreed. Start Tyrod for the Ravens game, and once he gets hurt, Cook is next. Glenn made a lot of mistakes, but if he keeps trotting Fields out there, that's just coaching incompetence at this point.
I’m sitting here wondering how in the world we justified paying Fields 40m to start and we could have had Jameis Winston for 1/4 of that contract. Winston is a much better QB and locker room presence, it’s mind boggling
because Winston has passed his peak and they thought they could make Fields into something with many good years.. They gambled and it looks like they lost. But its very understandable. They probably never thought he could look this bad. Neither did I. Of course they have operated without many good receivers for their games and a porous defense. Still, they did lose the gamble
He was never this bad, not with the Bears, not with the Steelers. I was admittedly excited about the prospect as a lottery ticket but this staff doesn't want to use him as a runner, one of the craziest things to come out of Glenn's mouth this season.
What good does it do you to strictly run him? You know you can do that and you also know it’s gotten him nowhere fast. I hated the plan because I already knew the outcome but this was always about finding out if Fields could be a guy.
Not strictly as a runner but they barely run him at all and Glenn said we can't put him in harms way or something ridiculous. He's not a QB and everyone knew it, taking the run away neuters him
I remember one of the arguments for why it was better to go with him than to bring back Rodgers was his mobility. Yet he's taken a million sacks. He took a sack with a win on the line against Denver. They shouldn't have signed him. He's not a good football player. The Jets have Hall, had Allen, Davis to run the football. I need my QB to throw the football distribute the football. I don't give a rat's behind how good a runner a QB is the safest place for a QB is the pocket that's why teams invest high draft picks, millions on OL. I was watching Packers-Giants earlier I was jealous watching Jameis Winston play for the Giants he's their third stringer this season. HOW in the frickin' world out of all the QBs the Jets could've signed after the moronic choice to not bring back Rodgers did we end up with THIS guy as our starting QB? AND HOW in the frickin' world was he allowed to be our starting QB undisputed?
Brisett broke the NFL record for completions and we are running out the clock at halftime because our offense is so inept the HC is afraid to give the ball over lol. Watching all these games kills me, QBs slinging it all over the field. Running the ball and controlling the clock is an antiquated approach.
Exactly! This league is BUILT to pass the ball and score points Guys like Fields and Zach make it look fucking impossible…they have a hard time finding any open guys, and struggle to complete fucking 4 yard passes half the time, let alone 15-20 passes It’s fucking excruciating to watch. Like the Browns kid we beat…he was god awful…but shit Fields (and Zach) was a first round pick in his 4th year! He’s not a mid-round rookie. Just terrible…I like to watch all of the games on the NFL App and damn, there are some great games out there to watch, but it’s like we aren’t even playing the same fucking sport!
