thought he didn’t play all that bad tonight but I admittedly was casually watching in an alcoholic haze
There is no excuse now - Glenn needs make a change at QB. Mini bye coming, full week of practice with 1s for Tyrod, even extra day. Tanner did some good things today, but I just don't know if we will have open receivers and how the passing game will look when other teams start respecting our passing game. We need to have a few games with Tyrod to see what he can really do. Plus more opportunities for Metchie, AD, Tyalor, Smith... I know 100 yards passing seems like a major progress compared to last week, but this is still putrid.
Fields is not the worst Jets qb I have seen and there have been some awful ones but he absolutely not a NFL caliber QB, borderline backup
Fields isn't good, but Zach used to have way worse games that the Jets would keep close because the defense was good then. Fields would have given the 2022 Jets a real shot at the playoffs, and the Jets would be 0-10 with Zach right now.
As soon as the Pats went up 14-7 I turned to my son and said that’s it….insurmountable lead Called it
Morning after, we need some analysis and something other than knee-jerk reactions… My source of frustration for this game is that we didn’t get blown out at all. Glenn wasn’t severely outcoached and we didn’t look like we didn’t even belong on the field with them. For as bad as the defense was, we still had chances to win the game in the fourth quarter. I’m frustrated because the quarterback can’t play the position and the coach didn’t do anything about it. Not that we would have won the game and it might have been an even more heartbreaking loss but It’s really hard to sell a fan base and I’m sure the guys in the locker room on trying to win when you can see what’s causing the problems but you refuse to fix it either because you’re stubborn or you have unwavering faith in your guy. It was all self-inflicted wounds. Yeah their offense was fantastic but like I said, we still had a chance halfway through the fourth quarter and we completely blew it. Receivers dropping passes, the quarterback not diving on a fumbled ball because of a low snap, dumb ass penalties, and no sign of a passing game outside of dinking and dunking when the defense lets up. I’d have rather been blown out
It definitely didn't feel like we had a chance half way through the first quarter much less the 4th. Felt like they were jogging and we were sprinting, they would have turned it up had we kept it close but 13 points down in the 4th we had 0% chance of catching up.
Well you’re proving exactly what my point was. All we had to do was turn it up a.k.a. have an even mediocre quarterback and it’s a game. The fact like it only felt like we had no chance is exactly the problem. We did have a chance. But everyone knew we had no chance with Justin Fields at quarterback.
That's how New England has won all season though. They dont blow anyone out. They average 26.5 PPG and give up 18.4 PPG. And they beat us 27-14. Almost right on the nose
All the more frustrating that we were in position to change that and couldn't because of ineptitude at QB. Pats defense didn't make Fields miss throws, fumble (which led to 3 gifted points) and not see open men. Almost all self-inflicted wounds in that sense.
Who was worse? Borderline backup? Who wants this guy being the emergency QB if the starter goes down?
Looks like they'll keep Fields in at QB for the remainder of the season. This will insure the highest draft choice they can draft. Also I won't be surprised to see Wilson out for the season.
What a boring game that was. I was struggling to stay awake in the second half. Coach A.G.'s dreadful, boring as eff brand of Jets football. A WOW first drive that was the high point of the game for us. The refs really screwed the Jets on NE's first drive that penalty called on the tackle on Diggs my goodness. because he tackled him too hard or slammed him a bit it's football! Whatever it's the modern game these things must be accepted. New England had to work hard for that TD, with help from the refs if the Jets stop them there who knows it might've been a different game. To me it was astounding how the throw in WR from the Sauce Gardner trade had more balls thrown his way in this game than Garrett Wilson had all last week against Cleveland. The deep ball he dropped I think that route was longer than any route they've called for Garrett Wilson all season long. The incompetence of these coaches. The GM is showing early signs of being a good one. When the time comes hard decisions have to be made on these coaches I hope he doesn't get lumped in with them.
This was the first, and I'll admit the last, time I watch this dysfunction. I have never seen fields play but after watching the 1st 1/2 half he should be benched and then subsequently cut (I know they will not but...). Its criminal that AG kept him in the game and now I know why we are 2 -8. The O is dysfunctional with him and they do not trust him...its obivious. I am shock that Woody has restrained himself, Personally, I always gave people a chance to prove themselves but if they couldn't perform to the SOP, I fired them with notice. AG said he makes decisions based on whats best to win....Really!!!!! if that is the case, he is a problem because his decision making blows.... what a cluster ****.
