I never thought I would reach this point.... I never would have imagined that a QB could be so bad that I would bail on the Jets before the end of the 3rd quarter. I'm there boyz. I can't watch Fields play QB anymore. I just can't do it. I'm done until either Glenn replaces him OR Fields is unable to play for whatever reason injury or otherwise.

I'll catch the condensed version on YouTube going forward but on Sunday, I'll watch teams that actually have NFL caliber QB's play real NFL offense.

Last night, I bailed early. You guys know it's something I rarely do if ever. After all the decades of watching shit football out of this team, I'm going to do myself a favor and take a break from the grind..

In the event Glenn comes to his senses or Fields gets replaced, I'll be back. Until that happens, YouTube condensed replay is enough torture for me to endure.

    Cman out...

I get it. My dad bought seasons before I was born. He got them in Namath's rookie year. Started taking me to the games in 1973. So, I am a fan who goes back to the Shea days. I know the pain of being a Jets fan all too well. Still a season ticket holder all of these years later. It's easy to crap on the Jets but I will say one thing that the Jets have going for them right now. These next two drafts they have an opportunity to turn this around and rather quickly. We will find out how good of a GM Mougey is these next two drafts. He obviously has to hit a HR with both them and not just finding a franchise QB but adding talent on both sides of the ball. They have acquired a lot of draft capital with all of these 1st and 2nd picks they have. If Mougey does well then better days are ahead. Of course, the Jets could also screw this up. There will be a lot of pressure on Mougey to hit on these draft picks.

The Pats won 4 games last year with Mayo and now they are 8-2 and in the drivers seat for a first round bye.
Jets won 5 games last year with Ulbrich and now they are 2-8 and in the drivers seat for a top 3 pick and have no hope with a terrible coach.
Yeah, I don't blame you man, this organization is just a bottom dwelling mess and has been for far too long. It starts and ends with Woody.

Same here. I turned it off after the first drive of the 3rd. I’m not wasting my time with this trash anymore. If I feel like watching football, I’ll just watch the best 4pm game. The fact that fields is still a qb…… just solidifies the fact that he’s such a bad passer, he can’t even throw his career away

What I see in Justin Fields is similar to what I saw in Zach Wilson. Inability to read the defense quickly, and slow in getting rid of the ball to his receivers. Except Zach Wilson has a stronger arm. I can’t wait to not watch Justin Fields as the Jets QB, much like I felt with Wilson. I wish they’d give Brady Cook a look to at least see what he has.

Maybe it’s just because it was the year that broke me but the Adam Gase year was much harder to watch IMO. The good thing about that is I haven’t been able to mentally check in on this franchise since then so it’s saves me from a lot of pain and misery. You know Office Space when he tells the therapist “every day you see me, that’s the worst day of my life“ and then gets hypnotized? I’m in the hypnotism phase. Not even Justin Fields can affect me now.

I haven't watched the whole game yet and am well into the 2nd quarter but so far the difference between the two QBs is pretty stark. The Jets just aren't able to ever use those layered routes like Drake Maye and other good QBs nail on a consistent basis because Fields just can't see the field and/or anticipate well enough to do them. And then that makes everything else harder. And I like Justin Fields. And I think he's a good "thrower" of the football but he's not a good passer by NFL excellence standards.

I'd go so far as to say no NFL team can really do well at all or consistently with him playing like he has this year. In a league where the difference between winning and losing is so fine you just can't give yourself that much of a disadvantage at the most important position.

I'm leaving for my other place outside SF for the winter to be near my son's family. It gives me an excuse not to have to watch the Jets anymore this season. I DVR the games on my NY TV and can watch remotely ex post facto if they should win a game.

I've become a Sam Darnold fan. Last year I rooted for the Vikings, not including the London game. I think they made a mistake letting Sam go. I don't think McCarthy will be as good. This year rooting for Seattle.

He's unwatchable. By starting him you're telling your team and fans that you're not trying to win.

Yes. Amazing job by the coaching staff there.

But, their second year TOP #3 pick QB/ MVP candidate is why they are winning. Put Justin Fields with the Pats roster and what is their record?

Comedy is what's happening in Cleveland right now. They suck at the QB position too, but they are in the middle of a raging QB controversy and this is spilling over onto the coach and GM. Now that is entertainment.

Ours is just tragedy. No chance, no hope, and no obvious future.

    2-8. Maybe.

All these receivers who are playing well - Douglas, Boutie, Austin Hooper, Mack Hollins - they're all JAG castoffs, they were all around last year, and were no great shakes. Hunter Henry is reliable but not much more than that. Diggs has been a good signing but coming off ACL surgery he was a risk. It's not like they got Moss and Wes Welker here. The entire OL had to be rebuilt and they are playing with rookies at LT and LG - usually this is an absolute recipe for disaster. Patsies running game is poor, their stats are inflated by some big hitter runs from their rookie RB but I'm calling it right now, Henderson is not going to be a success in the NFL with that lack of vision.

It's Vrabel, Josh McDaniels, and Drake Maye.

In all seriousness, Fields is the worst NFL QB i've seen. I'd take Trevor Simiean, Zac Wilson, and others again before him...He is not a QB, just can't process a D and let it go.

They do this every few years....just change the GM/coaches names. Jets fandom is truly a flat circle

Regarding whether coaching or Fields are more to blame -

Fields has always been Glenn's guy. He really thought Fields underperformed in the past due to bad coaching and thought he'd be the guy to turn his career around. That's a big indictment on Glenn. It was obvious this was never going to work out - there was too much evidence of Fields playing poorly elsewhere.

I don't know how much input Glenn is going to have on the next QB we draft, but hopefully it's not much.

Oh geeze, I bail on jet games all the time. Sundays and days off with he kids are few, I'm not taking 4 plus hours from that if we have stuff to do.

I watch if I'm free, and I have no emotional attachment to wins, losses or the qb play.
