https://x.com/RichCimini/status/1987997034255646886 "Bad news for the #Jets offense: WR Garrett Wilson is expected to miss at least 3-4 weeks with a knee sprain, source says. Good news is no surgery, just rehab." Why did we play him if he was not fully healthy, that was so fucking stupid!? If he tore he knee, he could have been out for much of next season as well when the games hopefully actually matter. Perhaps we are lucky he only sprained the knee and out for a month. But I do not want to see him back until he is 110% healthy and ready. Let's not be stupid.
Call it a season Garrett, hit up cancun. Dont bother with this season. We need you when we try again next year
Garrett was getting injured all the time before (i.e. last season I watched him hop off the field on one leg numerous times in different games), but he hadn't gotten paid yet so he wasn't coming off the field. Now he's paid.
Just give GW a seat next to Braelon under the heater for the rest of the year. There is no reason to bring him back with this season already being over. It's already next year if we're honest with ourselves. Empty the bench and keep Fields under center as he is our best chance for the #1 overall pick or at the very least, a top 3. If we must lose, might as well benefit from it. I want Ty Simpson over Mendoza so I'm also rooting for the Saints to get the #1 pick.
Common sense. Or you think it is a coincidence the same exact knee he was out with before got hurt again the very game he comes back?
Recovery for a knee sprain is 3-4 weeks. He was out 3-4 weeks. There’s not a single NFL player that’s waiting until they are pain free to return from a minor injury. This sounds like a very forced way to bash the coaching staff you’re very on record as loving to bash.
And you are on the record of trying in a very forced way to defend the CS where at this point you are ignoring common sense. We were 1-7, now 2-7. Don't bring the key guy in until he is back to full 100%. Be smart.
Cleveland is 2-7. Schwesinger their "key guy" linebacker did not practice all week with an ankle injury. He played every single defensive snap for them, lead the team in tackles, tackles for a loss, and sacked the QB. for comparison: Wilson practiced, was coming off a bye week, and is paid much more than Schwesinger
Since when are the Browns a great example of how things should be done? If there is one team dumber than us, it's them. GW sure got hurt pretty easily there, there was not much contact. You don't think it would have been wise to give GW full 4 weeks from that 3-4 week estimate to be sure? You think it would be wise now to err on the side of caution? I stand by what I said: get fully healthy at this point, don't rush it, and yes it would be plain stupid otherwise.
It's not about playing through pain, knee sprain means a partial tear in the knee. Full knee tear means a surgery and he will likely be a non factor in 2026. Not sure about the exact injury to the LB in Cleveland or how important he is to them, but I don't really care. GW a critical star player for us, and we need him in 2026 more than now. It's about being smart, don't fuck around. If that means full 4 weeks, wait 4 weeks. If you are not sure, wait longer. Don't rush it.
hes soft. Did you watch the Tampa game? He did not fight back for the football on Tyrod Taylor’s pick 6, he avoided contact and let the other team score 6 points, in a game we lost by 2. That’s just 1 huge example, he never breaks tackles, he steps out of bounds a lot and leaves the game often with injury, like Sunday the Jets need a gritty, tough wide receiver in the worst way. On 3rd downs someone who will make a catch in traffic!!! we haven’t had that in years
That is just not true. Yes, he did not come back for the football, he jumped to get it and was undercut by a defender, then ran after him. This is just in no way an example of being soft or lack of fight, or contact avoidance. Now, could have done better - perhaps by coming back to catch, maybe a misjudgment to some extent, but not an example of being soft at all. This a bad pass by Tyrod. Everyone can see for themselves. 6:20
Stefon Diggs, Mike Evans, AJ Brown, Tee Higgins... just a handful of tough wideouts that would've killed themselves to stop that from happening. And they all make less than Wilson. Maybe not Higgins, idk the financials there but probably of course it was a bad throw by Taylor, never said it wasnt
There's no convo to be had here if you think NFL players are 100% when they return from a sprain. There's a reason you're not seeing many "I can't believe they played him when he wasn't fully healthy" opinions out there.
