Okay. I can get behind this message. Asking in a very friendly way. Are/Were you a teacher or served in the armed forces?
Sorry, no to both, but I have coached some football mostly through the pop warner stages I’m in finance as a career, but funny that you mention teacher as I’ve been told more than a few times that I would make a good teacher/professor…and I do like to break things down and bring people along at work, so maybe that’s where that comes from
Yep. You explain things very clearly and your messages are well written. Plus, you don't tolerate laziness etc. I thought about teachers and army guys after your strong reaction to Kyler.
Id take the best qb in the draft, or the smartest, and go BPA. If we are in a draft spot where qb is a positional reach, I'd go BPA. The cupboards are so bare on this team they need to accumulate players, ones that have not endured a half of losing.
Thanks man! Totally on the laziness and also on the stupid…like that Corley bullshit with dropping the ball…I’d have been totally on board with cutting him that day…like that kind of stupidity we won’t tolerate here.
Id be on board with that, certainly wouldn't be cheap, he's certainly established himself as a very good coach, but the 49ers franchise is light years ahead of the Jets About the same as Steelers and Packers organization, the Jets are on the same level as the Browns, always a day late and a dollar Short
I'm on board with this. In fact, I want nothing to do with any of these re-tread QB's. Kyler Murray has been a "head case" since he entered the league... In a small market. I want this guy NOWHERE near Gotham. He doesn't study etc. now, you think he's going to suddenly change with all that nightlife at his disposal? I think not. Clearly I can't keep bitching about the trades so how about I go at this from the other end. The NY Jets have NEVER had someone in house worth 2 shits to develop a QB from the draft. That MUST change....NOW! Regardless if AG stays or goes they ARE going to draft a QB whether it be next draft or 2027. How's about having an honest to goodness, PROVEN, QB whisper on this team!! Wouldn't think it needed to be said but clearly the Jets need "someone" to tell them what they should already know.
I'll amend my original response. If it's to wait for Arch in a draft the Jets own 3 first round picks I can understand why some fans would want to hold off until 2027. There would be risk involved doing that because of the Manning's 'history' with the Jets & if there is a Manning QB waiting at the top of the draft whichever team has that top pick likely isn't going to budge out of that pick unless their hand is forced. The Jets would have to finish with the #1 overall pick. Coach Glenn possibly this regime wouldn't survive that. I doubt they'll wait until 2027. I'd try to trade for a Lawrence or Burrow or draft a QB early in 2026. If the rookie QB leaves me doubting hey I'd go back and draft another QB early in 2027. There's no law that says because a team drafts a QB in the first round they can't draft another one in the first round the following year.
Unfortunately I think we have to take a guy this year. It's hard to imagine we will have a higher pick next year and some of the teams that have QBs and won't take one this year like the Titans might next year. This is the year we realistically have the best chance of getting to the first pick, I have a feeling we may not even need to trade up to get it.
Burrow is going to cost all 5 1st round picks and then some. We have nothing to give him anymore in terms of a team. Draft a QB. Do some serious due diligence and draft the QB.
Drafting a QB is not the problem though. Jets never being able to develop a QB is the problem. Looking at our coaching staff, I don't see an Aaron Glen and Engstrand led team to develop our next QB.
Past has no bearing. Yes I agree about Glenn, but there’s a right and wrong way. Giving up 5 first round picks and then some to bring Burrow here is the wrong way. Look at our team, ee have zero talent outside of GW and BH. Burrow is made of glass at this point, putting him on this team eith no draft capital to help the team will put that dude in early retirement. The only way forward is to draft and hit on a QB.
5 first rounders plus lol, no chance. Maybe 3 1s and a 2 or something but nobody would predict 5 firsts, sorry that's just not realistic. Watson went for 3 1s if I recall.
I get Watson had some legal issues but Burrow has some injury issues. If they are going to trade him then they clearly have concerns too or it will never happen.
Watson did, and Burrow is a much better QB. They will ask for all five 1st rounders for Burrow, otherwise why would they trade him?
Oh I get it, they would have to have some concerns to trade him resulting in the lower draft capital. I think there is probably a sub 5% chance they trade him, just bored speculation.
