What makes people think Mougie is Idzik 2.0? What has he done so far to justify that view?

Let me draw a tad more clarity. What I meant was a fucking fact on the NY jets, dude. I have 100% of history on my side with that statement.

That's an honest breakdown... Really can't argue with it. Thank you. A bit of levity in all this, "GREAT, we got all these 1st and 2nd round picks so now we're going "Championship" in 3 years." I simply can't with those people at this stage of my life.

Move to Indianapolis and start following them, works for some :D

Great trader, get all these fucking high-paid losers out and do a proper rebuild and hope they know what they are drafting this time.

8 games in and he’s proven he’s failing. Boy what a quick over emotional hook.

How has the GM proven to be mediocre at best? He’s had one draft and one free agency period with a handcuffed cap.

Nothing really. He had a handcuffed cap in free agency last year and one draft where it looks like we may have netted at least two decade+ long starters in the trenches.

We have a new regime that inherited a terrible team with no QB. It stands to reason they’re going to build the team from scratch in their image. I like what Mougey is doing so far.

Didnt Quinn Williams take a gun with him to the airport:rolleyes::eek:?
That’s about all I can remember that’s halfway noteworthy about him….basically an underperforming loser most of his stay on Jets

So WTF were they doing extending Sauce Gardner with millions only to trade him 3 months into Season ?? From what I hear that won’t be such a l monetary loss to acquire draft capital

Now we get fresh players who are hopefully developed by the CS ….(yeah ..sure lmao)

I think, at least from my perspective, that's the point. Considering the track record of this franchise, I'm not sure I trust Woody to pick the guy that is now being entrusted with what essentially looks like a small king's ransom. In fact, this is damn near expansion franchise territory with this much "loot" at one individual's disposal.

Damn it, THAT is my POINT! See my post to @Cman69 as my explanation.

So no one gets a chance because they’re associated with the Jets? That’s essentially what you’re saying. Don’t draft a QB, the Jets will screw them up. Don’t give the GM a chance, the Jets hired him he has to suck.

What’s the point in following the team anymore?

LOL. More levity, unfortunately, skepticism and self flagellation are two of the few things we Jet fans exercise with extreme authority and a life long of hard lessons.

His 104 field goal return was against the Colts too. ;)

Quinnen is still a really good player. But when you make a defensive tackle the center piece of a defense, that player needs to be able to absorb double teams and still generate a pass rush or help his guys generate a pass rush by pushing the double team back so the QB can’t step up and the speed rushers can just bend the edge rather than needing to worry about the QB exploiting running lanes.

He hasn’t been doing that the past two years and that’s one of the reasons the pass rush has suffered.

His best feature has always been his first step and get off too. That only gets worst as he gets older. Not for anything either but that’s a massive haul for a defensive tackle with the low sack numbers he’s put up three years running.

I love Q and loved the pick. Defended it for years when everyone was pissed at what Josh Hines-Allen was doing in Jacksonvillle. You will still hear Gary Danielson bring him up on Saturday CBS broadcasts when elite college defensive tackles make a play.

It's clear that there is a type of jet fan that is increasing ten fold. The one that everything sucks and will suck until the end of time. The team sucks (yes), our GM and HC suck, every move today sucked, every asset we got back sucked or will suck because people who suck will be using the picks. And if we get the right players we suck so much they will inevitably suck too.

I say to that group go pound sand. You should take your own advice. If this is going to suck until the end of time, why bother? Go golfing or pick another team, which you will eventually fall into the same thought process of everything sucking. Nobody is saying we're saved, but to say we are screwed literally no matter what happens is pretty much the same pointless absolute thought process.

My diehard Cowboys fan FIL summed it up best:

“You’ll waste our picks and we’ll waste Q’s career”

    the most likely outcome

Nah, I could never root for another team. I'm afraid I'm stuck with the Gang Green for life.

It's too late for me. Save yourself!!

Now that they have all these picks, I hope they can do something smart with them.

Unfortunately, even if they manage to pick good players, I have no faith that they can develop and use them productively.

I think that if Aaron Glenn really is the right coach and he's going to succeed todays moves are good ones. These moves give him time to improve his staff, get his plan and vision together, take some hard lumps learning and then, once hopefully and optimistically he's moving from the learning on the job and taking lumps phase into the wildly successful Jets head coach phase the team now is armed to the teeth with nice draft picks and open money to sign all the right free agents to make it all happen.

Will it happen? Tempting to say probably not given our history but at this point I say fuck it... lets give it a try. This season is a complete lost cause already and the value on Q and Sauce was never going to be higher. I think I'm firmly on the "I like it" side for the moment even conceding that this may not be the right coaching staff and it may end ugly. But if they aren't the right coaching staff it was going to end ugly anyway. If they ARE the right guys then now they also have the ammo they need. So its "almost" win-win.
