Yes true but the problem is that this tear down actually guarantees that we won’t see that coaching turnover…this is AG’s way of getting to season 2…he has Woody convinced he’s the guy
problem is boys the guy asked to be traded... when they wouldn't reno his contract. So they waited till they could get the most for him.
This is their way to getting to seasons 3, 4, and 5. They won't be fired until, at the absolute earliest, the end of the 2027 season. More likely, though, we won't have a chance at seeing a new coach here until after 2028.
You and I are usually on the same page but in this we disagree. I'd like you to provide evidence that those three bolded words have EVER been ANYWHERE withing the 4 walls of any NY Jets building, throughout it's ENTIRE history... This organization is INCAPABLE of building anything but shit correctly.
You know what I "see/hear" when I read that? You ever "hear" any adult in the Peanuts? No, you hear wah wah wah wahwah. Everything you just showed would be a PHENOMENAL haul for ANY team but the statistically proven worst drafting team in ALL of professional sports, the NY Jets. This team drafts worse than anything I've seen in my lifetime or read. Nothing like giving a Dodge Viper to a 10 year old who can't drive. Unreal.
Seriously…we heard the same shit when JD traded away our best player for two first round picks…THIS time we’re building it right taking it down to the studs blah blah blah And I think JD had the right strategy in place in terms of investment of premium draft picks…he just blew the actual player evaluations with guys like Zach and Becton. Our only hope is to see if Mougey can do better…plus we are still saddled with a rookie DC masquerading as HC, and in all honesty AG has been a pretty huge downgrade from Saleh Forgive me if I’m all out of patience and confidence
I don’t even understand what that means though? So the Jets should never try to gain draft assets and only sign free agents (a proven failing draft strategy across the entire league) because they’ve been a bad drafting team historically? JD sort of had the right strategy. He was a good player/trade negotiator. Then he got the trade up bug and traded up to draft a guard (AVT), an older defensive end (Jermaine Johnson) and a running back (Breece Hall). Disliking the coaching staff is not a reason to not try to build a roster through the draft. I can’t understand the logic at all.
So far the 2025 draft class isn't bad, although I admit it is far too early for a full evaluation. I just refuse to accept that this GM is necessarily the second coming of John Idzik until he proves it.
I'm with you, except I won't ask for forgiveness to be out of patience or confidence. When I watch teams, like the 49'ers, pound on teams with a QB on his 3rd team and guys from the fucking STREET, because they are so injured, I know the Jets aren't anywhere NEAR calling themselves an NFL franchise at the moment. Any half decent coach worth two shits could take the, well, what was the current roster of the Jets and be, at least, .500. So, now, they've finished decimating what was left of the talent on the team and some find "positives" in that? Williams and Gardner may not have been Reggie White or Deion Sanders but they were ALL this team had. This is the kind of message you send at the BEGINNING or END of a season. Not in the middle. AG won't be able to sell his bullshit any longer in that locker room. Bottom fucking line, this is a QB driven league and there is NO QB in the 2026 draft. That's a fucking fact. Unless the skies boil, dogs start humpin' on cats and pigs start to fly, this team is going to pull the trigger on a 3rd round QB talent just because that poor ass individual happens to be the best out of a pile o' shit. THEN they will NOT draft a QB in 2027 BECAUSE they just pulled the 1st round trigger on a "never was" the year before. You see, that's how that goes. Seriously? A bullshit turd burglar franchise, that hasn't whiffed the playoffs in most of our kid's lifetimes, is asking the fans to sit around on a "spiked joy rod" for the next 2 years on FAITH? Riiiigghhhttt... Some of you have that kind of faith but I do not. I said, at the beginning of the year, I'd give this shit show another year, possibly two, before I take my football loving self somewhere else. It's not looking "good" for my retention. Clock is a tickin'...
I don’t disagree that it was not the case in the past. No argument. We didn’t build it right even when we mortgage the future and bought and overpaid for talent at the end of their careers. But our only option for a bright future is to finally build it right. We were on the right track the year we drafted Ferguson, Mangold, and Chad, only to fuck up his weapons later. If we don’t draft properly it doesn’t matter two shits who we kept or traded. We were going nowhere with this current structure with limited picks in the near future and a significant commitment financially to a handful of players. Q was solid but by the time we built enough to be competitive, he would be in the decline and due a new contract. Sauce massively overpaid for his current performance. We need a QB in the worst way and talent around him that can grown together. If we don’t trust this new regime to draft right then there is no hope no matter what. We have three additional first rounders and a second rounder over the next two years. And we have freed up two big chunk of money that can add much needed talent. I say with the money saved and picks is more like six major acquisitions for the price of two, pretty good.
Spot on. You beat me to it. Over the next two years, we can add roughly 9-10 top tier players if we draft right and leverage free agency. If we can’t come out of this with a FQB and talent around it is time to call it quits.
Let me explain it to you. AG has already PROVEN he is useless. He's failing at shit a High School coach figures out BEFORE the season begins, #1. This GM has proven, so far, to be mediocre, at best. #2. Why in the world would I trust these people with those kinds of resources. Much like why would I trust a 10 year old to drive a Dodge Viper.
