Guarantee they do better under that leadership than the current garbage. We need Rza as owner, though.
I don't think he'll be fired. He'd have to be incredibly beyond belief stupid (sticking with Fields/losing the team beyond repair) to lose his job. Once Fields is benched it's coming the pressure from the fans, the media, his own players will become too much. This can't go on for much longer. They'll win some games possibly even this coming Sunday against Carolina. With Fields still in at QB and Wilson out it's creating doubt in my mind if this will be the week they finally get a W but they'll get some Ws in 2025 could even be one of the hotter teams to end the season.
I was thinking the NFL is so wide open this year. If only the Jets had held on to Aaron Rodgers & brought back Devante Adams. I have to believe the Jets would be right there with all these teams competing for playoff spots right now. What these guys did to our QB spot to me is criminal negligence. In a league starved for good QB play the first thing they did was get rid of Aaron Rodgers. AARON RODGERS. That alone is bad enough. Did they have to go out and get & pay the worst QB many people have seen in a looong time? Fields did get benched last season that should have been a red flag? Then they compounded those two eff ups by not drafting a rookie QB during the NFL draft. It saddens me. 2025 may have been the year we got the payoff with Rodgers. If only Woody would have had more patience stuck with Coach Saleh & Rodgers. I don't believe Coach Glenn will be fired but he should be. I don't trust his eye for QB talent it scares me. They'll blow that top pick.
From The Athletic. Let’s get this out of the way: Glenn is not getting fired. Not this season, and not in the offseason either. There are a few reasons for that, but let’s start with the most important one: Patience. Owner Woody Johnson, according to multiple team sources, has mostly stayed out of the way so far — he’s letting Glenn build the team, the culture, in his vision. Johnson, as The Athletic has reported over the years, hasn’t always been good about staying out of the way when things have gone poorly. It should also be noted that Johnson is paying Glenn handsomely — multiple league sources say Glenn’s compensation is higher than that of Robert Saleh, who was reportedly making $5 million annually. If Johnson fired Glenn after this season, he would be paying him a significant salary for, reportedly, four more seasons to not coach the Jets. And yet, things have gone poorly through six games, worse than anyone in the organization could have predicted. Glenn shoulders the blame for that, especially in light of some questionable decision-making during the loss to the Broncos. Johnson surely isn’t OK with that 0-6 mark either. But Glenn sold Johnson and the Jets’ search committee on a Lions-esque rebuild — that rebuild started poorly, too. Glenn, at minimum, deserves a shot at seeing it through, certainly beyond just his first season. Glenn said that he and Johnson “have had really good conversations” and that the Jets owner “understands everything that we’re trying to do.” The Lions started 1-6 in 2022, after which Lions owner Sheila Ford Hamp publicly endorsed Campbell. Detroit went on to finish 9-8. There’s no guarantee Johnson will act the same way that Hamp did. -- Mentioned it before, Glenn is PREACHING the F out of that Lions scenario. But you know damn well Woody is getting the itch to step in.
Aaron Glenn on Justin Fields holding onto the ball, pointed out that Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen have a high average time to throw too. "I know that's a huge topic that everyone talks about but there's a lot that goes into that. When you look at the time he gets the ball out, some of those have been his best games where he holds the ball for three seconds and whatnot. That's who he is ... I'm not sitting here saying he doesn't need to get the ball out. There's some quick game where the ball has to get out. But there's also an element of — we know who that player is. "You look at Lamar, his number getting the ball out is higher than Justin's. I think Josh Allen's numbers are higher than Justin's. Everybody tends to see who those guys are and understands that. For some reason they don't understand Justin." _______ I'm increasingly convinced Glenn is just an idiot. None of these comments make sense. For one, Allen and Lamar do not take longer to throw the ball than Fields on average. So Glenn is just flat out objectively wrong about that. "For some reason they don't understand Justin." Uhhhh could it be because Allen and Lamar are MVPs who actually find receivers down the field after holding onto the ball? As opposed to Fields who somehow takes an eternity to throw while simultaneously never targeting anyone downfield. Fields' average depth of target, or how far he throws the ball when he does throw it, is among the lowest in the league. This is like when Zach Wilson simultaneously had a low completion percentage AND yards per attempt. It's worst of both worlds. Glenn's answer is also just jumbled nonsense in general, which shows he really doesn't even know what he thinks and is just scrambling for anything to say no matter how asinine. He says that Fields has some of his best games when he takes a long time to throw but also that he needs to get better at getting it out more quickly? What?
He's a billionaire. Eat the money, Woody. Time is more valuable than money. He's driving the team into the ground. This was a team many people were picking to go to a Super Bowl last year. This was not supposed to be a in contention for a #1 overall pick type of team no way Jose. I saw they may have a fire sale because of 0-6? They could rid of good players like Quinnen & McDonald etc. don't let him do it. Thank God Wilson & Sauce got paid or they would be on the block too. They picked Justin Fields over Aaron Rodgers. They need their heads examined. They didn't think it was a good idea to draft a rookie QB this past draft. Now look at us. Don't let them select the QB in the next draft they'll set us back YEARS. Clean house get people in here who know what they're doing.
He's out of his mind. Comparing Fields to a league MVP and league MVP candidate? This dude may need to see a psychiatrist.
What he’s ignoring in those stupid ass statements too is that Allen and Jackson generally find ways to break tackles or allude defenders to buy time. That’s part of why they’re probably holding the ball longer than your average pocket passer (although agreed, there are stats that show Fields on average holds it longer). Fields tries to break the pocket and allude defenders when it’s too late and it’s already closed in. He also retreats instead of moving up or laterally. His pocket presence is dreadful.
Actually, you may have a plan here. If the Jets turn over the head coaching job three times a season that will speed up the process of them finally finding the right one, won't it?
If he thinks Fields is like Allen or Jackson, then why the fuck are we playing Fields under center in I formations asking him to pass from the pocket? So either he’s stupid for thinking Fields compares to them, or he’s stupid for using him incorrectly. What’s sad is the only person in this new regime of ours that seems to have any competency is Mougey.
