Mets stay a game ahead of the Reds, and move two games ahead of the Diamondbacks. Magic number is 3.

Of course Sproat is fine until the 5th, then the bad pitches, bad fielding, and mental errors are suddenly back again, and they're behind. As I've said many times this season, they don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

Pretty funny to hear how pissed off Gary, Ron, and Keith are at the Mets. Why they would be surprised that the team would come up small in the most important game of the season (1/10 with RISP, multiple physical and mental misplays) is beyond me.

Reds leading 3-1, so they'll be out of playoff position soon.

Cincy can clinch today with a Reds win/Mets loss.

There is nothing more Mets-like than getting knocked out of the playoffs by a shitty team like the Marlins... Beat the cubs, lose to the Marlins, your 2025 Mets in nutshell. No consistency whatsoever in any aspect of the game. Just like last year but without the good luck.

Welp Pete Alonso showed up tonight. Part of every scoring play so far.

It all comes down to the last day. We've seen this before, and it doesn't usually end well.

I think the Mets season ended with the loss on Friday.

The Brewers will have nothing to play for.

Milwaukee has clinched the No. 1 seed in the NL and home field advantage throughout the postseason.

This is what makes it all that much more pathetic. One of the highest payrolls in baseball and can barely stay over .500. The team adds one of the best hitters in baseball and they are actually worse than last year.

Most of this is on Stearns. Every single move they made with their pitchers failed until it was too late. Now they are calling up prospects out of desperation and we find many should have been starting all year.

Whether they make the playoffs or lose in the first or 2nd round makes no difference. This isn't a team that can compete for a title. I know I said this last year as well, but they need to completely revamp the bullpen. The team is only as strong as its weakest part.

Yup, they have nothing to play for, and I'm sure they would love to see the Mets out of the playoffs after being sent home by them last year.

0/8 with RISP. Swinging at pitches a foot out of the strike zone on 3-2 counts. So pathetic.

Cincinnati loses, and the Mets still won't be in the playoffs. Unbelievable.

The reds lose! Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha The Mets will have 3 outs to get a minimum of 4 runs. Might need more depending on this inning. Marlins threatening to score more.

And that's it. What a joke of a season.
