It ain't even close. Today down that much we'd have been fd with Fields in there. No chance at a comeback. Put Fields at RB if they like his running ability so d@mn much.
After giving up 30+ points in back to back games the D vowed that would never happen again. So today we give up 29. Mission accomplished!
They absolutely do not trust Fields throwing the ball. Tanner was pass happy all day when he should have at least paid some attention to the GnP.
Which goes to show that this team has no identity. They spent all offseason talking about how they were going to be ground and pound. They backed that up by not bringing in any weapons at receiver to take some of the attention off of Wilson and focusing on the O-line again in the 1st round of the draft, and then they throw that away in Game 3 of the season.
Another game, which Glenn is treating like a moral victory, even though he says it is not. We played like garbage for 3 quarters. The same fucking safety blitz works for TB again and again and again and again. Then we finally get just a lucky ass break and block the kick, which has 1% probability, and more than that, return for a TD to take the lead - a 10 point flip. Now, Baker lost top 2 WRs, top 3 OL. Sauce returns for us. AG is a defensive coach. This is where you want them right? Wrong - and it did not even require a 60 yard FG. Baker easily marched to get a an extra point type FG. We could not get a stop and in fact gave up a rather easy long run to Baker quickly. I don't know guys, maybe for some this is a moral victory, but for me, it's another tough loss, which we could have won. Sucked for 3 quarters, woke up a little bit, got a lucky ass break to take the lead, and then easily gave it up to lose. Now, we may be a week away from the season effectively being over. This is no moral victory, this absolutely sucks.
It's effectively over now. It'll be officially official Monday night. The Jets, a Prime Time game, and the season teetering on disaster. I mean, what can possibly go wrong with that scenario?
Let's not suck Tyrod's dick quite yet. I mean he put up pedestrian 20 points, and on top of that had a pick 6 and another turnover on a 30 yard line which gave them immediate 3 points even after the D held. That's 10 points given away by the offense, two brutal TOs, and 20 points scored. Basically the offense got us net 10 points today, and was abysmal for 3 quarters. This will not win us a lot of games. And this is not all on Tyrod of course, but he certainly didn't win a starting job from Fields with this type of performance. Now, if Fields has another game or two like he had last time, he would lose the job by default, but we are not there yet. Tyrod's performance did not win a starting job today.
Well officially it will be over a little later, but you are not far off, only 6 teams made the play-offs after 0-3 start. 1981 Jets is actually one of them. There was also a recent example of the Texans in 2018. So, yes, odds are very low, but that number goes down 6 fold after 0-4, only one team in NFL history ever made it, and that was over 30 years ago. So, being an optimist as I am, I will give it one more game before the tank officially begins if they lose.
Yeah, about average, but still a little below 2024 average of 21.4. Three of these points was due to Taylor fumble, even though they held, but effectively conceded a 3 point opportunity when McD blocked the kick, so 22 is fair. So, we actually haven't technically hit the average a single time in 3 games, two of which were complete bottom 30+. And also could not get a stop when it mattered with the opposing offense missing 5+ starters, including multiple star players. So, yeah, wasn't as bad as usual, but not amazing, especially considering how much the opposing offense was suffering from injuries and critical moment or the points conceded when they needed a stop. Not amazing.
We’re cooked Does anyone think this defense is going to be able to stop Hill, Waddle, Archane and Tua? No fucking way. We are going to look like a damn punching bag on Monday night for all the world to see. This is very easily one of the worst teams in the NFL. No joke
I will say: That guy has guts. There were plenty of times in that game he could have slid, but opted to take the hit and gain the extra yard.
