Also if I was a college football coach, there is no way in hell would I ever schedule a Friday night game. Why do they do that? play a game at the same time every high school in America is playing. Not only do you miss the opportunity to have a presence at their games but even worse, you know they aren’t watching yours
Seems like positioning a team in the draft to grab Arch Manning is getting easier every week - anything in the first six rounds will probably work. Actually, unless there's a lightning strike in the next few weeks I'd say he's going to stay in school for a while.
Why do I get the feeling that Woody will make the Jets will draft the only Manning that can’t play football?
There's a chance that the NIL money is actually going to be a huge unanticipated benefit for parity in the NFL. Borderline players or QBs who need more seasoning can now get it, which means that QBs picked at the top of the draft will hopefully now be more of a sure thing.
It’s actually a big moment for Sellers. He’s playing dinged, with a short week of practice, on the road in a tough environment. I want to see him look like a number 1 draft pick would in this situation, otherwise yeah, maybe he ain’t that guy
Because you are a NY Jets fan and, after the decades the fans have lived through, this is what more than likely will still happen. Kind of sad isn't it?
After @Brook! posted this thread and jinxed the entire class of college QB draft prospects, my side-activity has been watching past and present Carson Beck extra-close, just to find out if I’m a dick. Probably. But I’m more convinced than ever he’s the same guy I thought he was and will ever be: a decent QB with a strong arm and the same flaws I’ll never want to root for again. Also, the next meathead analyst who calls Carson Beck a “smart QB” gets marginilzed forever. Beck is a straight-B when things are going well, a generous-C when games get hairy. I’ll give him the full season to make me eat this post, but here it is in a nutshell: Beck 2024 was the same guy as Beck 2023 and 2025. The only difference is his supporting cast. When he has good players around him compensating for his shortcomings, he looks like a first round pick. He wasn’t as good as everyone thought he was in 2023, nor did his game fall off in 2024. Same guy. You can blame his 2024 on receiver drops, but that’s only half the story. He also doubled his 2023 INTs and led the SEC last year. Risky throws he got away with in 2023 because of who he was targeting. UGA also lost 1100 yards rushing from 2023 to 2024. They had more RB talent, but a combination of youth and injuries put everything on Carson Beck. He did OK. He’s still doing OK. I hope he has a long career doing OK elsewhere in the NFL.
I enjoy watching John Mateer play QB the same way I watch competitive bull riding. Part of me is rooting for the rider, part of me for the bull; whatever happens - I don’t care, but it’s fun. Trying to think of a player I’d compare him with. Best I could do is - a bulkier, tougher Baker Mayfield. Might just be the uniform leading me there.
Sellers was good in the 1st half! that Miami Hurricanes game is basically being played in a hurricane so unfortunately we won’t get much of a bead on the QBs
Chris Fowler on Carson Beck: “He’s throwing the ball a little low tonight.” Not just tonight, dipshit. Watch him. He’s consistently a little too high, low, behind or ahead with a crapload of his throws. He makes receivers work.
I’m buying into the rumors and saying this is DJ Lagway’s last game in 2025. It’s the @Brook! QB thread jinx.
