I am very grateful to have the thread on my book pinned! I am working on my next book now. I wanted to take a broader view this time, so I am writing about one season in the NFL. I will write more biographies of Jets players in the future, but for now I am working on 1976: A Year in the NFL.
It was a very interesting year - some significant rule changes, some big storylines, and the addition of two expansion teams. Also, 1976 has always been one of my favourite years. We had an incredible summer that year in England. There were lots of interesting events outside the NFL as well, and I’ll be weaving those into the narrative.
We had an incredible summer as well. Don't forget the USA was celebrating the 250th anniversary of its stunning defeat of youse guys. Perhaps the cover photo should bear a photo of the tall ships on the Hudson with the fireworks in the sky; maybe from an angle with a prominent construction site visable in the distant swamplands.
Yes indeed, Rocky was attention getting. And my math skills are failing me. But we will be celebrating 250 if you can get your book out next year.
I'm hoping to, there will be something neat and tidy about examining a season 50 years later...not quite so neat if it slips to being 51 years later!
