What's up everyone. Haven't been here in a while. Saw this thread and just wanted to say thanks to P for keeping this going.
Same. Thank you so much for this little hide away. I can't believe it's really been so long. Feels like we were taking Pennington, Martin, and Vilma. There was a whole ass HoF Revis Island career in there too. The Favre saga. Wow.
I see i am registered in 2011... but I didn't regularly post until years after that.... anyway.... nice to hang with other insane people... almost makes one feel normal... almost
Going to get a bit sappy but TGG holds a special place in my heart. When I first signed up, I had just gone through a bad breakup with my longtime girlfriend. I sat around for a couple months drinking, playing Madden, reading and writing about football and just generally being sad. TGG helped pass the time until I got over it. Anyway, happily engaged now. I much prefer talking football with you knuckleheads than the cesspool that is Reddit or any other forum.
incompetence and poor decisions will get u exactly what we see on and off the field. just annually copy/paste the results despite owner/management. cheers!
thank you for all you have done. if nothing else, a large number of us saved a ton of money on psychiatric treatment.
after watching this year' s train wreck ( all brakes, no gas) offense, combined with the matador defense, i must have been trapped in a rubber room in a white suit, with my hands tied behind my back.
It sure has been a rough ride. The last decade has taken all desire to update this message board and website out of me. If only they could relocate this train wreck to Mars or something...
Just realized that the highlight of that season for me was Week 8, October 23, 2000 to be exact. It was a MNF game and my group had a Dolphins fan with us. At the end of the third quarter when the Dolphins had just scored to make the score 30 - 7 he told us if we wanted to leave it was okay with him - he didn't want to torture us. The rest, as they say, is history. I doubt getting up for work the next day was much fun, I just don't remember. It serves as a perfect reminder why I never left a Jets game before it was over. Not then, not at Shea in the 70's in an ice storm when OJ Simpson broke the NFL season rushing record going over 2,000 yards, 200 on the day. I never could understand those who go to a game with the predetermined decision to leave eaarly, regrdless of anything. BTW - October 23, 2025 is the Thursday night game in Week 8 - the schedule makers missed a great opportunity!
