They chose Fields over Rodgers because they wanted low expectations for the season. If Rodgers was the QB the expectations would be higher which is not what they want. Loser mentality from the start. They can talk tough about building culture but the only way to build culture is by winning games. If Rodgers goes to Pittsburgh and does well while the Jets struggle then they will have to answer for it.
Woody must have changed his mind - a couple of weeks ago the uniform database showed the Jets wearing white and Steelers in black for tomorrow. Glad it changed though
What if the Jets put up one of those “tribute videos” for Rodgers at MetLife. Like what if. They wouldn’t do that cringey shit would they?
What's there? A shot of him running out of the tunnel with a flag? Audio of him pointing at the invisible red line? Four quick go nowhere plays ending in him grabbing his foot? A dozen shots of him stumping around the locker room in a boot? Remind me what he accomplished for the Jets.
I've never seen a group of people whine more about a guy that's gone, that we whined incessantly about while he was here. I didn't like the hire of Rodgers in the first place but was hopeful once he was in the building because I'm a fan, it's what we do. However, if anyone was delusional enough to think that wasn't going to end in disaster hasn't been a NY Jets fan for very long. EVERYONE could have...SHOULD HAVE guessed it was going to crash and burn. I simply can't believe "we're" going back and forth about this. Now, you want to talk football, how about the way the Chargers "handled" the Chiefs? BOTH conferences have some extremely tough competition this year and, for the Jets, it starts tomorrow. To be quite frank, if the Jets can run the ball the way that I think they are capable then they should win this with the home field advantage. An interesting stat: the Eagles were a RUNNING team last year. They were balanced but did favor the run. So, in a supposed passing league, the Eagles won the Super Bowl while running it down teams throats with Saquon Barkley. Now, no one is going to confuse Hurts with Fields but, if Fields can find 65% passing while mitigating turnovers and they run the ball while staying healthy I think the team can at least look presentable. A lot of "I think's" in there and a whole lot of optimism but I figure today is the last day for optimism until this team proves their worth the positive vibes.
They have nothing to answer for. The entire JET World realizes this is a start over year for the organization and such, there wasn't any pie in the sky expectations about a SB or even a PO run. Now Rodgers loyalists otoh, will find nothing good about this season no matter what happens and that's their right. They are the NEW SOJFs.
If they did, it certainly would be a quick tribute as there weren't too many memorable moments worth noting.
It never had a chance because Robert Saleh and Ulbrich were the head coaches. If the Jets had Mahomes last year they miss the playoffs. The Jets were doomed due to perhaps the worst coaching staff in NFL history. Rodgers will take Pittsburgh on a deep playoff run, book it.
Game will be blacked out in Ct. Out local CBS is airing the Pats. Sometimes I really despise the NFL.
It’s days like today, loading a grill into a car in the pouring rain in preparation to drive to MetLife Stadium from Southern Connecticut, to watch our bottom five quarterback go 9/17 for 94 yards, a fumble and a rushing touchdown, where I really wish my father grew up not liking football at all.
That's exactly what it is. Stop being Unrealistic. This is a new FO, CS, QB, New system on all 3 units. It's gonna take a season or two for it all comes together. Rodgers is gone. Get over it and either root FOR thr Jets or get the hell out of the way.
