I'm sticking with 5 or less. I think the offense is going to be brutal. I'm expecting another dreadful season. The really tough thing is my dad passed away a few weeks ago. It's going to be so hard for me to watch Jets games without him. And when we weren't watching the games together I would call him 20 times during the game. I'm man enough to admit that during the first preseason game I watched this year, I cried like a baby all game. He was my sole reason for becoming a Jets fan.
Little bit of a slip up from Glenn... this quote makes it pretty obvious that wins and losses are not a priority for the team this year. Most of us assumed this was the plan, and a logical plan, but I think some of us are still expecting big things from a team that barely can get off the ground. https://x.com/ZackBlatt/status/1962907868748738865 Zack Rosenblatt @ZackBlatt Aaron Glenn on what would define a successful season: "I want to be a team where the fans say I'm proud of that team. If they say that, I'll be happy because within that, I know wins will come."
My deepest condolences to you. I know your dad is "looking down" and rooting on his team with you. Sadly, I don't think divine intervention is going to help Justin Fields hit anyone farther away than 5yds. off the LOS. I DO get the feeling that Glenn could be the answer at HC it's just going to take a lot longer than a single pre-season. I think 5 wins is about right.
This whole season really just comes down to wanting to see the offensive line become a formidable unit. We have two top 15 picks at tackle, a first round selected guard that we traded up for and a second round center. It’d be a great thing to see the Jets be able to pursue a quarterback and receiver in the first two rounds next year and stick them into an offense with a team that can block.
Watched the game last night. UNC doesn't have the talent to compete regardless of who is the coach. The Jets seem to enough talent to hang in the WC race all season. Their defense should keep them in most games and the specials should be good. Offensively we'll see how it goes. Time of possession will be big for them. Anyway I'm looking forward to the season. Go Jets!
Going with 6. There’s no one to scare the D opposite Garrett Wilson. They are going to double him and load the box. We’ve seen how this ends before.
I went with 6 wins. They will do just enough to not land a top qb in the draft next year. @KWJetsFan I also lost my father recently. First season without him. Watched the majority of the games right next to him on the couch. My condolences.
The season hinges on Fields, which is scary, they'll load the box, forcing fields to throw the ball, it's going to be 3 and out, over and over, maybe at best a dink and dunk offense, the defense might keep the score low, best case scenario, which would be the worst case scenario, 5 to 7 wins
Upside is that NO ONE is expecting this to be some kind of miracle turnaround in '25. For once, the Jet Fan Base is willing to give time and patience to the rebuild although that word rankles many people. For once, time is this FO/CS's friend.
Well said boss. This year is a throwaway year for me. All I care is to establish a new culture in the clubhouse and build the foundation for next year once we get our QB thru the draft. Get the stink out of the building this year and I will be happy.
Having one of our own in Aaron Glenn helps with the patience. We know who he is, there’s an added credibility.
