New season, new hopes. Hosting Aaron Rodgers and Steelers at Metlife. Can we win? I think so. Will we win? Nope. Not with Fields What do you think
im hoping its close and that Rodgers does not have a good game because thats really going to make for a bad Sunday if we lose AND he plays well.
I think we will struggle to score a lot of points all year, but the Steelers D is pretty good. Historically we’ve sucked against them for the most part but seems like we’ve actually beat them more often than not in our last few games I think…maybe I’m just remembering it wrong but it feels like we hold our own vs them. Anyway though, I think Pitt wins as I think we may be able to move the ball a bit on the ground but I think we will stall too many times and settle for FGs…I think it’ll be tight and I think this is a must win game with our early schedule, but I think we lose a close one. Hope I’m wrong, but until I actually see this offense be productive and score points, I’ll stay doubtful until they prove me wrong.
I vote Jets to win. What defensive player on the Jets wouldn't like to pancake Rogers? Always red shirted in practices. Hands off our fragile quarterback! Glenn? Not ready to scream his praises. I like the quiet this off season (not that the Jets made splashy moves). If Jets suck my expectations won't be crushed. Brook you going to the game?
Brook will be on a plane to Raleigh, North Carolina Sunday morning. Will land there around 12:30 pm. I will watch the game on my phone thru NFL Sunday Ticket(Yep I signed up as I will be on the road a lot this year).
Unfortunately, I saw nothing in the offense that screams more than 17 PPG. That's not going to get it done. I know it was vanilla offense this pre-season but it looks like Fields circa every team he's played for.
This is a must win game for the new regime. You absolutely cannot have the QB you kicked to the curb come in and embarrass you. A lot to gain and a lot to lose in this game. A win would really validate the off-season and the direction change. A loss would be same old Jets especially if Rodgers does really good.
The Steelers owned the Jets from 1970 through the rest of the century … the Jets only beat them once (1988) in the first 15 games. In this century however they have held their own against the Steelers so to speak despite some down years…Since the 2003 blizzard game won by the Jets 6-0 they have gone 5-7 including the two playoff losses (both close). So basically after being 0-9 and 1-14 lifetime against the Steelers they now stand at 7-19 vs the Steelers in the regular season.
Nah. Don't be dramatic Sox. Steelers were a borderline playoff team and Jets were a mess. New Head Coach, OC and DC. New QB and new coaches as well. No game will be a must win for the Jets. We are a team with over under 5.5 wins.
I feel a loss here. Not indicative of longer term future with Glenn, but I think Rodgers will really get up for this one and haven't seen evidence that Fields will be an effective passer here. Though I am curious how much different the offense looks once there's a legitimate threat for him to run
Not feeling it! Like J79 has stated about Fields he is what he is and unless this guy becomes more accurate the passing game will be a joke.
Yes but according to the Jets fanbase the reason the Jets were a mess was because of Aaron Rodgers. So the mess is now in Pittsburgh and the Jets are now free of it. Also this was the new regimes decision to send him packing so they absolutely cannot have him come back into the building and make them look like fools. This is a must win game with a lot to gain/lose. I can guarantee you if the Jets win it will be bigger than a normal win hower if they lose it will be bigger than a normal loss. With that said I think the chickens come home to roost Steelers 27 Jets 10 The new regime will be off to a bad start and everyone will be saying same old Jets by Sunday night.
I thought the debate was between JD and Saleh as to whom, other than Woody of course, screwed the team??? Rodgers is an arrogant waste but he was nowhere near the main issue.
