    Patriots claimed QB DeVito

several teams are rolling with 3 QBs on the active roster. We have 1 and a half with Taylor half injured

We waived Tyler Johnson to make room for the new waiver claims. The fuck? We take the worst WR room in the league and make worse? Really hope there’s a trade coming.

That can be a problem. I do expect the Jets to bring another vet into the fold at some point at least while Taylor is still recovering…

You don't need 3 QBs when you're running it 80 times a game.

    Tyler Johnson
    Zaire Barnes
    Marquis Hayes

All waived to make room for the guys. Waiving Johnson makes absolutely no sense. Our WR room is Wilson, Reynolds, Lazard, Smith, Gipson. Putrid. There has to be another signing or a trade coming.

I think they are just being patient and bargain-hunting this first year, they waited a while before the Phillips deal emerged I think. They could end up making it a few games into the season before the right deal comes available. No reason to overspend at all at this point unless Woody starts getting in his fee fees again.

I was responding to this comment: "you want this team to win yet you’re fine with them choosing a bad player at a starting position.". Sometimes you say it's not consequential, and the other times you directly tie to winning. But to answer your question directly, I do want to see WR room and a returner to be better. I am just not sure the PS kid is it and I do not see better options. I am not surprised at all no one claimed him and he is back now, no harm done.

Now if they waive a good OG we have and keep Ruckert, it would be a different story. I would rather have extra good OL than bad TE. Unless we can get him back on PS.

Yikes they're REALLY not gonna throw the ball much. Jelani Woods sounds like he profiles almost like a big receiver with his skillset.. But how did Ruckert keep his spot over him?

I read the Jets also put a waiver claim on Devito.

Well a bit surprised we waived Johnson, and yeah, our WR room is pretty damn disgusting…I hope there is something in the works to help that group, but GW is going to be double covered every single play because no one is afraid of Reynolds, Lazard, A Smith, or Gipson.

Ugh man that is one sorry group of receivers…

Expect we may see plenty of 2 back or 2 TE sets, with plenty of dump offs going to the backs.

This offense, yet again, is shaping up to be a hard watch…

But yeah…that WR group needs help…we need at least a 2nd credible receiver

Johnson is back on the practice squad as well as all three WRs every one was concerned about. With the exception of Ruckert still on the 53 not one surprise.

The WR room is not worse, it is same crap as before. We were just debating whether the WRs we released are better (according to you) or similar (according to me) than what we have on active roster. We got these guys back on PS. Johnson is another one of these scrubs. The guys we got on PS are about as good as him. That's one good thing about the worst WR room in NFL: a PS guy is just about as good as #4 or #5. I could give two fucks less about Johnson, because the replacement PS value is about same as him.

Out of these players Hayes is the only real loss. But I guess they didn't want 11 OL and did want to waive Max, who is worse than Hayes, but plays OT.

What I don't understand is why Ruckert is still on the roster. Really what they should have done is waive Ruckert and kept JBC.

Of course he is. We have the worst WR room in NFL, who wants the bottom feeders there!? JBC was the only real loss from what we had. Maybe Hayes, but tough to keep more than 10 OL. Somehow we need to shore up WR, which is easier said than done. Also we are very thin at Edge.

Ruckert still being on the roster with 3 other TEs is really the only surprise.

Yep, I do predict a WR trade coming up and releasing Ruckert

I think when you have garbage receivers with a shaky throwing QB that’s never worked with any of them, you’re just trying to find the guys he’s most comfortable with.

That’s sort of what I was getting at with Lazard. Is he trash? Ya. But if he’s always in the right spot when he’s supposed to be there, that can help a QB out even if he has clod hoppers for hands.

Lazard took a pay cut to stay, they are just returning the favor.

It would burn bridges if they cut him and it was Joe Douglas - Aaron Rodgers that got us into that mess

Unless half of those carries are by your QB.
