    The Reds will overtake the Mets in the WC race.

    Congratulations to Alonso. He'll probably extend the team record to between 260 and 265, but then might very well be on his way.

    Meanwhile, the Clay Holmes experiment seems to be ending - he can't get past 60 or so pitches without completely falling apart. It usually happens in the 5th or 6th inning, but now he's so bad it happens in the 4th.

    Goodness… only one Mets starter can reach the sixth inning. That’s not sustainable!

    Alonso hits #254, second of the night, 4 for the Mets. Eleven runs, all with two outs.

    Alvarez with his second, and then Baty follows with one. Six home runs for the team, 13 runs, all with 2 outs.
