Latest report highlights NY Jets' major prospect fail Unbelievable dysfunction. How can guys become coaches at this level and not think they have to train a player or design a scheme to take advantage of his strengths?
I've just read an article that seems to want to lay the blame at the feet of the coaching staff without calling out scouting staff that have picked a guy who was raw, lacked route running precision, immature and had a "questionable approach". Feels like a 6th round flyer to me.
Maybe it's the fault of both the coaching staff and the scouting staff. Either way, it's dysfunctional.
Corley is not fast, he’s not big, he does not have good hands and he has a limited route tree. Oh and some character concerns I fail to lay the blame on the coaching staff there. It belongs with the guy who took that type of prospect in the 3rd round and was “thrilled” his name is Joe Douglas
Yup, it does fall on JD. On the other hand, doesn't the coaching staff have a say in who gets drafted? Let's hope the new regime can bring the best out of Corley!
It looks like Jets X Factor is on a small iceberg drifting quickly towards the equator. We had Nania's out of touch diatribe last week and now we have Faria going back in time with a year late non-story. - at least he kept it short. The headline and sub head both refer to a report that is not cited, probably because it doesn't exist and if it did would amount only to whining about old news.
The new coaching staff does not seem enamored in him so I won't be surprised if he's cut before the season starts. His "type" of player has not been successful recently either. I came across a couple tweets, that were not Corley related, and the success rate is not great.
Giving up waaaayyyy too early again on a draft pick because of the media. This is the issue with the Jets being in NY. Did he do well no but to call a third rounder a bust when he’s behind 2 Probowlers on the depth chart is silly. If he was immature I hope he learned his lesson and grew up fast. But don’t give up on him we can talk him right out of town for nothing and who knows what happens when he matures a bit as a player person. Guy plays like Debo after the catch
He may be fixable. It's not like he doesn't have talent, he just didn't really get a lot of reps. I do tend to think it was more coaching, but who knows. Can't blame coaches for him dropping a pass before the goal line.
it seems the staff really didn’t do much development. Plus Rodgers only trusted those who knew where to be whenever he went off script. That’s why Lazard and Adams played so much and got so many looks, they were on the same page. Aside from Garrett who even had to get on Rodgers level, none of the kids really got a chance to play. This staff is focused more on the design of the offense rather then the offense script looks that Aaron saw.
Not looking like a great draft pick yet. This camp is very important for Corley and let's be honest, its not the strongest room in the NFL. He may get a shot to stick. 1)G. Wilson 2) Corley 3) Charles 4) Gibson 5) A. Smith 6) Lizard 7) Gibson 8) T. Johnson 9) Reynolds 10) B. Smith 11) P. Wilson 12) Winston
