    It could get a lot worse if a certain high visibility, low productivity, unemployed, over the hill quarterback ends up there.

    I'd bet anything that the Saints told him that either he had to have surgery (and miss the entire season) or they were gonna cut him. Either way, the Saints get what they really want, which is a legitimate chance at Arch Manning. Carr retired rather than go under the knife and sit at home for the whole season.

    I would think that Shough will get a shot at being the man, but if he totally craps the bed, tanking for Manning becomes a viable option.
