I think we're gonna see radically different things this year with the Jets. This FO/CS tandem seems to be all about business and not headlines so, the professionalism will rub off on fringe players like Corley and Clemons. Either that or they're goners. There is no gray area anymore with this new CS. Either you're holding up your end or you're history.
Boss. I used your post and created a new thread. I think this deserves its own topic and didn't want it to remain the Malachi Corley thread. I also expect a start change after Glenn and Mougey. Glenn is all business. He barked at the reporters already. I am sure he will not back down from this millennials who acted like they are in a summer resort inside the building. Not sure if it will translate into any wins but I will be happy not to see these dumb things from our players.
millennials? born between 1981-1996. That means the youngest millennials are 29. There are only 6 players 29 and older on the entire roster at the moment and 3 of them are kicker, punter, and long snapper. we are getting old Brook!
I expect big things from Corley this year….he’s got the talent he’s got the speed. Last year was built to “win now” and I think the staff was hesitant to put him on the field with their own jobs in jeopardy. Yes he made the bone headed drop before crossing the goal line in the Houston game … I’m gonna chalk that up as a rookie thing for now … Either way he’s gotta show something this year and he should be given plenty of opportunities by this coaching staff …
2009: Rex Ryan is gonna change the culture from the Herm resort days 2015: Todd Bowles is gonna change the culture from the Rex disfunction days 2019: Adam Gase is coaching us where offenses are going 2020: Rob Saleh is gonna revamp the culture and bring his culture of all gas no brakes 2025: Aaron Glenn is gonna change the cupture and make players accountable again 2029: <insert coach’s name here> will really bring back order and credibility to the locker room 2032: <insert coach’s name here> Will bring back accountability and attitude…..
Speaking of predictions, I bet your posts in 2032 will be no different in content and substance to all your previous ones since 2022 regardless of the NY Jets record, success or failures.
Yeah I definitely have the same kind of shell shock or “been there heard that” so many times before. To me the biggest issue is just that on that list, there are all rookie defensive guys outside of Gase (which was a stupid hire as well but for different reasons)…and they were also mostly paired with young or first time GMs. We are following the same exact playbook again, and while I love the hope that THIS time AG is different, and I like the accountability talk and all that, but I’m just not sold on the talk. All these guys talk a good talk. The only one who came close to delivering was Rex. And that fell apart because (shocker) the defensive guys couldn’t figure out offense
Bill Parcels when he took over the Patriots: "The players here are going to do things my way...And if they don't wanna do things my way, then they're not going to be here very long."
I don't know anything and unlike most posters I admit it. Moving on from Rodgers and signing Justin fields is a home run.
Glenn handled Aaron Rodgers like a boss. That definitely sends a strong message to the rest of the team.
AG is different. This time feels different. I'm gonna keep preaching it. I really do think we are FINALLY seeing how good teams actually operate. This is it. It might take a year to really turn it over but I'm not counting out year one either with the approach they are taking. I'm genuinely not.
Oooof, so triggered. Yes, I’ve been complaining for decades, haven’t had much else to do with this team. Yes, I’ll be complaining for more decades. Probably from some other realm because I’ll be dead, but I’m sure the Jets futility will continue to be alive and well.
Someone on Twitter had a good point in the past couple months Aaron Glenn has respectfully told both the Patriots and Aaron Rodgers to fuck off total NY Jet through and through
If what Rodgers said is true, that he flew across the country to be told in 5 minutes they were letting him go.. Legend move by Glenn. I think the Rodgers hate is a little intense and group thinky, but it is clear he wants to make teams prove how bad they want him.
It will be very telling going forward if they hold their poor draft picks and FA signings to the same accountability standard as they're applying to someone else's...
