I think the pick is going to be Tet if he’s on the board or Will Campbell if Tet is gone.

    who’s everyone else’s pick?

We are going to need a RT….. we should be looking at both the WR from Arizona and the TE from penn state, but we still haven’t fixed the oline so….

My preference is that we are able to trade down. There are 8-12 OT’s in this draft that are day 1 starter caliber players, especially at RT. That said, there’s a steep drop off from Tet McMillan on WR’s. You could draft McMillan, an OT with our 2nd rounder, and maybe snatch a good TE with our 3rd rounder. Might be able to grab Harold Fannin Jr.

Tyler Warren is gonna be in the mix at 7. One could argue the Jets made a mistake passing on Bowers.
    I doubt it happens again...

The man is a force + was more dominate than Bowers was in college. Bigger, 6'6" 250+ and more physical... can block too. He's got a chance to be the next Gronk...

I hope the Jets take him.

I would love Tet, I just don't see how the Patriots pass on him but they do need OT too. Warren would be a great addition to the offense.

I don't think Campbell plays OT after the combine results. It's very rare guys with his arm size stay on the outside. I know arm size is a meme at this point but the history does back it up. He will be an all pro guard or center but I don't want that at 7.

Mason Graham isn't the fun pick but he would make for one hell of an inside D-line with Quinnen.

Lots of elite skill position talent earlier in this draft including TE. Warren, Tet, or Jeanty. Any of these guys I'd be very happy with at 7.

Honestly, I think I'd take Jeanty as you could build an entire offense around him a la Barkley with the Eagles, Gibbs with the Lions, etc. He would touch the ball so much and not be as reliant on a QB to get him the ball consistently as a Tet or Warren would be. Obviously the line needs to be reinforced continually.

The NFL is just about weapons now and Jeanty is going to be a force IMO. This kid's pretty special.

I agree that offensive weapons like Tet and Warren are big needs. It’s also clear that Jeanty is a very special back. However, I think we have already a back in Hall who can be pretty special when healthy. Since we basically need a big run stuffer at dt next to Q, and since there are plenty of these later in the rounds, I would be inclined to take the OT Membou over Graham.

Some of the most recent mocks I’ve seen on utube with Jets podcasters lean to an offensive weapon in the first round - some Warren and some Tet. If Warren is the pick then I’ve seen Higgins from Iowa St mocked in the second round twice. I’ve also seen TX OT Williams mocked in the second/third round (one of the mocks had a trade down) and I’ve seen a couple guys really talk up the BC OT Ozzy Trapilo and how he could also slide into RT on day one and should be available in round 3.

So honestly, I’m not sure who the Jets draft at #7 but I’m positive it should lock down whatever position it is. But most mocks I’ve watched and read seem to lean heavy offense early and then turn to defense later.

Absolutely not. He was dominant for one season and all but invisible otherwise. His highlight real shows most of his catches came when he was wide o pen, and not because he ran some great route. Bowers was a college stud his entire career.

I see a lot of people making the Bowers comparison. I didn’t watch a lot of Penn St last last year but just because Bowers is the real deal doesn’t necessarily mean Warren follows his path. And the TE position is a lot deeper than WR. After Tet the WR talent seems to drop a lot faster than TE….

Now I’m not saying Warren won’t be a great TE but it’s going to be hard to repeat what Bowers has done so far in terms of impact ….

I think NE is going OT their OL is terrible …Vrabel will build the trenches first.

I’m PSU alumni, I watch every game they play. Warren gets open alot due to scheming. The first half of his highlight real are all wide open catches, but they’re not because he ran some incredible route or best his man. Many of his catches are on pressure seam routes that put the defenders into an “either/or” position to cover him in zone concepts. He fights well for the ball and has made some great plays, don’t get me wrong. I think Warren has a high floor, he’ll be a solid TE. I just don’t think he’ll be a legendary type of TE that I’d expect from the 7th overall pick.

I’d be inclined to take Tet at #7 and then look OT/ TE in the second and third rounds depending on how the board shapes up. I think there will be plenty of DL and S talent available on the third day.

I don’t see Mason Graham sliding past Jacksonville and I think Campbell may be better suited for guard in the NFL…..

I don’t think people realize the affect Andy Kotelnicki had on a player like Warren and ultimately why his production skyrocketed.

They went from running one of the most bland don’t fuck it up 1970s offense to one of the most creative in all of college football.

Will Campbell is Elite... I'm currently watching OL tape for these prospects. Will Campbell blew my mind. In the best way possible.

So. As of now. I truly think we will either take Will Campbell or Tyler Warren at 7.

What if Sanders falls to 7th? Do you think Jets select him?

I hope not. I'm personally not a believer in his skill set heading into the NFL.

I said in the main threads that I'm not excited about any offensive players this year. That's not entirely true. It's just the player I'm excited about, Jeanty, isn't anywhere close to a need. Hall and Allen are a VERY formidable 1/2 and as good as any in the league, when healthy. I would be as pissed that they took Jeanty, from a draft need standpoint, as I would be if they draft one of these 2nd round or lower QB talents. If they can't trade back, which would be the most ideal, then I'd be very happy with Membou. Warren would be an O.K. second but we really have to get that o-line in place. Just watch Detroit. THAT is what an o-line looks like. THAT's what the Jets need to build.

I’m hoping the Browns scoop him up so the Jets new administration doesn’t have the opportunity to screw themselves out of a job three years down the road ….

But I really don’t think Sanders is in the cards for the Jets considering all the QB drama this team has been through the last few years. They need to reset, finish building the trenches, and see where they stand this time next year before making their next big QB choice.
