Straight forward is seeing those reports and coming to the default conclusion that isn't in any shape or form saying "we don't want you" lol
Does that 100% include the Arod that blew close games with absolutely awful interceptions and QB play? Do we blame the coaching staff for those moments? We could see Arod blaming the WRs but we all know whose fault the bad throws were. I could see him doing well, but there certainly is no way I could stamp the 100% marker down on that scenario with any conviction.
No kidding, Completely agree. Tomlin “didn’t want him” rhetoric flies in the face of the Steelers making him an offer equivalent to the one Jets made to keep him in Steel town. Enough nonsense. The only fact is Tomlin completely screwed that whole situation up. The rest is utter BS.
The reports this morning that the Steelers would be comfortable going into the year with Mason Rudolpf as it's starting QB is one of the most obvious desperation bluffs ever lol I ultimately like the Rodgers fit in Pitt better then I ever liked it here, but just barely at this point. Especially in the event he'd likely be coming in there with a bit too much ass kissing and hand shake agreements going on behind the scenes to get him in the door.
I do believe some of the players are already in a mood and are clearly stating “shit or get off the pot” I don’t think he will be received with the same awe and the organization eager to change everything around him like the Jets did.
Minnesota is not an option for Rodgers, they are not. Interested. So what is he waiting for to sign with there Steelers?
it’s Aaron Rodgers. “Reeeeeelaaaxxxxx bro” he’s got to align his team decision with media cycles to get himself the most attention possible. If he signed now he’d be just another player signing in free agency. he can’t be just another player! my guess is a week before training camp or something HE announces his return and which team HE chose and the TV will be all Rodgers all day long
Whichever team gets him. Welcome to AR world. If there was ever a high risk year in Tomlin long tenure this is it. It’s boom or bust. The two WRs better get the routes perfect if they want the ball.
Since Minny is out Pittsburgh the best option. This was the team I originally thought was the best fit for him. Yep you are right. Tomlin wanted him so badly that he benched him last year when they had a winning record. LOL
He made the offer for 2025 4 months after he benched him, no such offer for Wilson. What was he planning to do with Fields? Have him as a back up for 20M?
Hope he gets it so we can stop talking about it. I wish him well, BUT He is no longer a Jet and his tenure here did not move the needle on this franchise one bit. Much to the contrary.
Actually it does because they decided to cut him. The same way Saquon going to the Eagles hurt the Giants FO this past season. If Rodgers has success and the Jets don't then they will have to answer to it and perhaps be held accountable.
Looking like if he wants to play football he needs to sign with the Steelers. The Giants have moved on
I think you mean that Pittsburgh is the only option. Of course that doesn't mean the guy can't sit at home or travel the world exploring the meaning of "meaning" until some poor slob gets his leg torn off in October and his phone finally rings at two o'clock some cold, rainy morning. For a guy every team should want, to be in this position, kind of endorses the Jets decision to dump him, doesn't it?
Well, the worriers do not have to worry about him going to NYG, they have chosen Jameis 'Mr Interception' Winston over him.
I don't know if they chose Winston, more likely Rodgers chose Pitts after Minny said no. Besides, Winston is a back-up, not starting material, he is worth less than Zach Wilson at this point. This does not preclude the Giants from the few moves left to get a starter. The Giants still need a starter, and they may try to get Sanders in the draft, though Russ could still be in play even with Winston. If we had Winston right now going into the draft, I would be quite upset.
