Shouldn't he be thanking the fans and not vice versa? He doesn't get paid if fans don't watch games and ads and buy stuff and gamble their money away so NFL teams can make a fortune. There is a plethora of entertainment options for people to spend their time and money on. The NFL is just one option of many. So I say: When you get a chance CJ, I expect a "thank you". And I will respond: "You're welcome CJ for my contribution to your huge salary."
He was more of a place holder than anything else, honestly. I think he had a much bigger impact for the Ravens in his career. I wish him the best regardless but I'm glad we are going a different direction there as well.
What an awful reason to not like somebody. Yeah, many opted out during the covid season because they CARE ABOUT THE HEALTH OF THEIR FAMILY.
He was paid an awful lot of money for 3 very good years. Unfortunately, he was with the Jets for 6. Not great ROI for the Jets, which is typical for veteran signings across multiple GMs.
I can't find any information on this. Do you have an article that talks about him being in a bar during covid? I never heard that. It should also be noted that people who opted out had their salaries pushed to the next year. They didn't just sit home and collect paychecks.
From what I remember, said photo was a picture of him in a bowling alley bar from several years prior to 2020/ him opting out. Photo was debunked recent because his hair style, length and or color were all from his time with the Ravens or Alabama. It was definitely a hot topic here on the forum, but again, from what I recall, it was proven inaccurate. Jet fans lost their minds regardless. Cause that's what we do P.S. pretty sure he was the highest paid/profile player to sit out that year. Typical Jets luck.
Deferring his contract to the following year was a dreadful situation for the Jets. They couldn’t use that cap space in free agency prior to his opt out and they were on the hook for a massively overpaid linebacker (albeit a solid player) for even longer. He was useless this year and probably would’ve been cut a year earlier if he didn’t defer. The NFL had some of the strictest covid policies of any workplace even if they were “exposed” on the field. He was at greater or equal risk of getting Covid going about anywhere in public the rest of the year and we all know he didn’t sit home for 9 months (regardless if he wasn’t putting himself at great risk). Sitting out was fucking lame.
