Another long list of many Jet examples. You have Quinnen Williams, your best defender and highest paid defender tweeting tonight about his dissatisfaction with the Rogers news. 3 hours later, his entire X account is deleted. Q has been a great role model, steady player here but always felt a slight sense of his immaturity all along. This is the kind of stuff that has to go. For him, I guess I understand it at this point in his career but for everyone who wants out, I just can’t help but think of Jamal Adams. The grass isint always greener. And for these guys and for those who want to reference Barkley or Becton, they’re making 1/3 of their market value. Think there will be some hard decisions that have to be made here. Interesting he took the tweet down and think Breece Hall had one too. Hope Glenn can get these guys to act like professionals and buy in.
He won't be able to, especially when the owner has as active of a social media presence as he does. This team was never a QB or a couple of players away from being a contender. Each of the past three seasons when adversity hit, they showed just how immature they are. The quicker the new front office realizes this and starts making moves to get the immaturity away from this team, only then will fixing this mess actually become a glimmer of a possibility.
I think an aging DT with his salary would be wise. Breece has also had an attitude too. RB window will go for him too. think they can get us some good yield to NFC teams lol! but seriously, we need to look at Dart, McCord, Will Howard and Dillion Gabriel and get this right.
Dillon Gabriel is absolute trash. I wouldn't waste a practice squad roster spot for him. I live on the West Coast now and was at the Rose Bowl this year and saw him play in person.
Deleting Twitter is a good thing. Players having opinions is OK, getting off toxic social media sites will be good for him
Such a clown show right now. They’re not serious. Weirdos being weird. Where are the leaders? You’d think 200mm would be an incentive.
Aaron Glenn will have to come in and start slapping some of these kids back to reality. They over valued their roster and seem to think they were a contender with Rodgers which they were not. Those that don't buy in should ask out no matter who they are or where they play. Nobody on that roster is irreplaceable.
Quinnen is one of the most overrated and certainly one of the most overpaid players on this team. Quinnen is so great that half this forum is clamoring for us to draft a DT this year at 7 overall. Fuck Quinnen, the big baby.
I mean this is the epitome of our problems. Q, not a bad guy at all. But, you draft him out of Bama, top 5 pick, mega extension, and you hope he is a leader after comparing him to the predecessors of Mo Wilkerson and Sheldon Richardson. It’s unfortunate he hasn’t been able to develop professionally to be the guy. Again, not a bad guy. But, at what point do you cut bait here and trade? Quincy is probably a part of this too but these are basic questions and situations we need answered.
On a level I see what Q is saying, but don't love the post and am not sure how much of a leader he is. But jeez dude, you went 5-12. Rodgers wasn't the main reason why, but he was definitely a big factor. Some really consistently unclutch play in close games. Social media just kind of sucks, and hopefully guys make better choices on it, but it's the world we live in. But I hope Aaron Glenn is able to establish himself as the strong leader this team was missing and can pull in the guys who are willing to buy in and weed out those are part of the cultural issue. My hope is there will be more buy-in for Glenn and most potential pieces will stay, but wouldn't be surprised if some people are out the door.
Quinnen Williams is like a 300lb teenager, the only leadership you'll get out of that goof is production if he's not injured or double teamed all game. He's just discovering what it means to be a New York Jet. Hitting the big reset button every 3-5 years like clockwork doesn't feel like progress to anyone except that little bitch at 1JD that collects on the bottom line.
Agreed, and the new GM should come in and make that abundantly clear to this team full of divas that they can be replaced at any time. Maybe trading one of them to Dallas, Jacksonville, or Tennessee will get the rest of the rosters' attention.
this is exactly how i feel. Rodgers had way more cred. Personally i think that is more an indictment on the prior CS than a credit to Rodgers. If Rodgers had focused 100% on team we might be in a totally different situation. I suspect FO wants the focus on Glenn and younger guys, and that (like Parcells used to do) they'll get some JAG-type players who they know are true believers in whatever the plan will be to create a better locker room and culture for the younger crew. I also imagine some of the more marketable players may be traded (not that i necessarily agree with that, thinkiing back to Parcell trading pick for what would be Orlando Pace)
Honestly, I do not care what people say on social media. It literally has nothing to do with anything actually regarding the team. Obviously he felt that Rodgers was a good QB and he didn't want to rebuild. I don't see that as immature. Did Woody make him delete his account?
Quinnen is a very good player but his overall contribution towards winning is overrated given the position he plays. I'm not sure I'd do this, but if the new hires want to make an example of someone and ship them off to Timbuktu then Quinnen is a great candidate, probably the single best candidate on our team. I really don't understand why players do things like this. We get it, you liked Rodgers and didn't want him gone. Still, you should not be publicly bashing front office moves on Twitter. It's such a simple thing to understand and so many players still do this idiotic shit.
It's because they know that they can get away with it on the Jets because the owner posts a lot of stuff to social media too. At this point, trade them all and get as much draft capital as possible to start this thing over. If Wilson was upset with the targets he got last season (while being the 5th most targeted receiver in football), just wait until he's got a late round rookie starting games in the middle of the season because Tyrod Taylor is nursing another injury. Breece will be facing stacked boxes again next season.
They definitely know they can get away with it but I think that's due to Bob "positive vibes only" Saleh and his zero accountability tenure. Our players need to have a healthy amount of fear that they will be benched or traded no matter how important they perceive themselves to be.
The no accountability thing is something that has plagued this organization long before Saleh ever got here. Regardless of all the tough talk at the press conference, I suspect it will continue to be an issue moving forward.
If that happens? Glenn will lose whatever credibility he has built so far. He's gonna have to walk the talk. He can't be Bob "jingle" Saleh. He might want to consider emulating his old coach Parcells for awhile until things settle down.
