This is a guy who played with Mangold at OSU. I wonder if he had anything to do with bringing him in?
All i can say is i dont know much about him, and i would love to see him turn into a diamond in the rough type of pickup, a little experience goes a long way, w'll see i guess
depth depth and more depth. if Mangini learned anything in NE, it was that. Clarke may not even make the team, but if he's good enough, he'll add depth, which is something every championship team needs. cheers
Tannenbaum talked at length about making these sorts of moves. When you mine for diamonds, you need to turn over a lot of dirt, but eventually, if you know where to dig, you'll find a rock that is a shiny one... a diamond. That's what these sort of signings are all about. It doesn't cost much, but if you DO find one.....
Decent sized polished type interior guy from what i can recall of watching him 2-3 years back. May never be an all pro, but may serve as a decent back-up/spot starter.
j'all read the whole article? including the new G, 4 out of 8...half the signings are D-linemen, 3 are DT's...so what do you think Tangini thinks our needs are? i think o-line is a close second.
Regardless of the needs among the starters, one of our team's biggest weaknesses is DEPTH among both lines. We've had some luck in the past w/ trying out these young, under-the radar, lineman w/ brandon moore and David Ball. Ya never know if/when we can find another guy for the DL rotation and a decent OL prospect.
Hes not going to make out OL better. I like how he played with Mangold maybe they know something about this signing that we don't.
I like the signing. The Eagles evaluate offensive lineman very well, to the point where they have too many offensive lineman. If Andy Reid thinks a player could be quality in the trenches, then he must have value.
