Yeah... maybe you should step back.

Maybe not so many delay of game flags this year... :)

If you think the QB situation wasn’t up to par last year, just wait until you hand the keys to an old injury prone Tyrod Taylor. Be careful what you wish for.

and a surprise team, will all have conversations with Aaron.

He's not retiring after putting up 28/11/4000
It's astounding that this team is reportedly moving on, but after all, it's the New York Jets. I can always count on them to make the wrong move.

So sick of this shit. Team is in forever rebuild mode. We get the best QB play we've had in over a decade and we release him! LOL

Dude was coming off a catastrophic injury and played very well, all things considered.
Kicker was a glaring issue and so was this heralded defense.
(Team was 2-7 in 1 possession games) Blame the QB, fine...Fact that we were within 1 possession for 9 games is probably another feather in Aarons cap.
Fuck this team man, dumpster fire.

So, the NYJ's just got a hot water enema this offseason. Not sure why people are pissed as they had to know a completely new direction was coming. Aaron Glenn and the new GM really didn't need to come in and stand in Rodgers' shadow their first year. They have to put their stamp on the team completely and that means for the most part, massive change in the front office and the sidelines.

Smart move by the FO/CS financially and operationally to let Rodgers ride off into the sunset. Its as close to a new beginning as we're gonna get as long as Woody Johnson is the owner.

I was indifferent to Rodgers decision. Hope we can either bring in a decent vet or draft a good QB.

14 years of playoff drought has to end at some point. I don’t care how but it has to end.

What a moronic thing to say. You can dislike some of the special treatment he may of received or had an issue with his production but to say that is out of line. Grow up

Of course Rodgers leaked it on Super Bowl Sunday. That dude's ego should have its own name and living quarters.

Most of his haters hate the guy personally for off the field conduct then on the field. With a few additions on the defense and replacing RT next year, this team had a definite chance to compete next year but they are either expecting Tyrod or a rookie draft pick to turn the corner. Not very likely…

    Pittsburgh would be great!

It’s already toxic there. Rodgers and George Pickens together. That’s like striking a match with gasoline

A fresh start here and the destruction of a conference rival? I sure hope that happens

This is the right move. Sure, Rodgers is the best option at the moment but he doesn’t make us SB contenders. Look at these teams, we’re not close. We need youth and you have to flush all remnants of the smell of dookie from the past regime. Like it or not Rodgers is part of the stink. Ergstrand or whatever his name is will never be able to contain a personality like Rodgers, and he deserves to run his scheme without interference. Keeping Rodgers means you add him to the books through 2027 for absurd amounts. Getting rid of him now absorbs a onetime $49m hit to walk away, much of which we recoup from letting D Adams go. Like it or not, it’s time for a rebuild.

IMO, the Rodgers "era" was the worst I ever experienced as a Jets fan. It's worse than Kotite and Adam Gase, considering how high the initial expectations were and how low we ended up.

Just as it was for the two years prior to Saleh's arrival. And the four years prior to Gase’s arrival. And four of the six years prior to Bowles. Chances are, that streak continues on into 2025 and beyond.

We've heard all of the preaching about "accountability" before. It just about always amounts to nothing but a nice catchphrase and a bunch of hot air. It never amounts to things that actually matter, like wins.

This is basically it. The media instructed them to hate him, so they hate him. It doesn't matter that the guy (today; not in his prime) is the second best QB the team has ever had. Better than Pennington; better than Testaverde. Nope, they want him gone because the media doesn't like him. Same shit happened with Rex. Same shit happened with Favre.

I love Rodgers. I love that he’s open about his personal growth and spiritual journey. I got no problem with his vax status or deceptiveness about it. As a player you’re correct as well. But keeping him means we also hold him on the books through 2027 for prohibitive amounts. It cripples the new regime unfairly. Rodgers is not a SB QB and we are not a SB team in 2025 with or without him. To stifle our future for a season of decency that will also be riddled with side stories and distractions is irresponsible.

I like and agree with a lot of what Rodgers says and does off the field. But the smallest distraction in the world to a football team is still a distraction. And he’s not a small distraction because he naturally has a ton of clout as a HOF football player at the leading position of the team.

He’s not right for this team unfortunately.
