Really pulling for AG but sure feels like Groundhog Day. I'll be surprised if we're not back here in 3-4 years.

Glenn has worked his way up the coaching (and recruiting) ladder and has excellent leadership qualities. He also seems to understand the modern game, unlike Saleh. Of course, there is no guarantee of success. Let's get excited though, because it's another big win for the Jets in the offseason, the season in which they excel.

Yeah that's why his defense was ranked 20th in defense last year right? Atleast Saleh was a top defensive coordinator what the hell is Glenn besides a mouthpiece and a way to sell tickets? Which Qb has he developed? Was he running the Lions offense or was it Ben Johnson?

I like what I’ve heard about Glenn being a strong leader, I like he was a great Jet when he played, but man it’s just too hard for me to get excited here. We’ve seen this movie before and we all know how it ends.

I’ll be rooting for him of course but I just don’t see it…we’ve needed offense so badly…and we continue to ignore it year and year and hire after hire. I’m just sick of it…

I would have preferred McCarthy or Kingsbury … two offensive guys with previous HC experience … instead of yet another fucking first time DC. Been there done that and it failed every fucking time.

Also would have preferred to have the GM hired first and let him make the final HC decision, but there you go.

Woody is a complete and fucking imbecile and will never get this right.

What a damn joke of an owner and joke of a team…

I’m commenting on what was reported. It was reported a “substantial” offer was made. It’s been reported he declined to sign that offer yet. It’s been reported he’s headed to NO to now meet with them again. Obviously our offer didn’t blow him away enough to sign it.

There are lots of examples of good NFL head coaches not having extensively positive records prior to getting hired. Mike Tomlin and Mike Vrabel are a couple that come to mind. And Glenn did have a defense that improved each year and was solid this year. Hire is about more than side of the ball and previous experience. Plenty of parallels between he and so many other hires in the past 25 years here, but that doesn't mean it'll be the same

I do as well - "Wait and see," as it should be for any new hire. The difference being that with Gase it was done with extreme pessimism and now it's with moderate optimism.

All those who wish to rave and guarantee success should have learned better by now; at least try to do it without demanding that all "real fans" join in. All those who want to rage and guarantee failure - don't let the entire door fly up your ass on the way out.

Yeah they improved from crap to less crap while having Adrian Hutchinson. And don't forget his fuckup in the last game while coaching the lions which made Saleh look like a good game manager.

You're forty minutes late to the party.

    Don't you feel foolish now?

Aaron Glenn as a DC the last three seasons:

    In ypp:

    27th
    27th
    32nd

    In scoring:

    7th
    23rd
    29th.

This is objectively one of the worst coordinators in the entire sport. And he was on a team that rushes the ball a ton so they limit possessions for his god awful defenses.

I wouldnt want Aaron Glenn as my DC let alone HC.

Denver hires Payton- reverses Hacketts mess and develops a franchise qb and denver makes playoffs
Chargers hire Harbaugh- turns around a shit team in 1 season and makes playoffs
New england fires bad coach in 1 season- Replaces him with a good coach Vrabel
    Jets counter with- Aaron Glenn.

The Jets have done nothing but fail (and in 2024 at an epic level) the last 14 years, so I get fans being frustrated, but this is a good hire. It’s a fresh start. Many around the league like Aaron Glenn. I say give him a chance. I’m excited to see what he does with this roster and how the new GM changes and improves it.

For those who are upset, who did you want instead? Just curious.

I think he will do a good job here. Glenn and Steve Wilks raise the bar
