He seems like someone that players would rally behind. I'm gonna keep an open mind, and will give him a chance. It does feel like we keep doing the same thing over and over again though.

Glenn just feels like the right choice to me. When Bowles and Saleh were hired, I did not feel that way. Maybe it is because I am much more familiar with Glenn, but I like all of his experience. I feel he will be a better Head Coach than they were. Now, he has to hire the right coordinators, have a competent GM, and find a QB, or none of it will matter, but still.

Glenn as our coach? ugh. Man, we're going to be in trouble. Well, here's to probably the next three years of misery.

The players respected Bowles too. What makes you say Glenn is a better communicator than our past failures? Please provide examples. What sets him apart from any of our past failures? I’ll use another candidate to help you understand what I’m asking.

Mike McCarthy has been a coach of 2 teams and led both to an overall winning record, multiple playoff wins, and overall winning record, developed what would become one of the greatest QB’s in history while having the guts to tell one of the other greatest QB’s in history to take a hike so the kid could play, and won a Superbowl.

See, that’s a whole lot of differences from the crap we’ve been hiring. So tell me again, what examples do you have that separates Glenn from the crap we’re hiring, other than you just hoping that’s the case.

I remember Glenn as a player, don't know much about him since then. I loved the Saleh hire, so I'm just gonna reserve judgment for awhile.

and the crazy part is Mike McCarthy would come here right now unlike vrabel, and any of the Glenn fanboys can’t deny that Mike McCarthy has a 1000 percent better chance of developing our next franchise qb and running a functional offense than Aaron Glenn, if you think otherwise there’s no hope for you

Oh, I see what you are saying. Yeah, Mike McCarthy makes a lot of sense to me too. Not sure why the Jets never have interest in him.

To me, Aaron Glenn felt like the right fit for the Jets, but I have no problem with McCarthy either. Glenn has been considered an up and coming Head Coach the last couple of years. I’m cool with moving into the future.

True, just have to hope Glenn has a good plan for an offensive staff.

yeah we have been hoping for the last 25 years and how did that turn out? Enough with hope and pipe dreams, time to do a 360 and do opposite of what we have been doing because it’s clearly not working

I really hope Glenn can coach at the HC level because I'm almost positive he's being hired because he used to play for the team.

Woody Johnson may not be the most meddlesome or worst owner but he sure is the dumbest and most socially inept.

I think it’s pretty much impossible to underestimate Woody’s stupidity.

There’s no dumber owner in the league…

I get why fans feel that way, but Johnson and Glenn have been the top 2 candidates for a couple years. Everyone thought the Lions would lose both last year, but they came back for one more run, and now both are getting Head coaching jobs this year. Glenn is a good candidate. If the Jets don’t hire him, someone else will.

Hopefully he doesn't whiff on a fake spike.

You make good points. I've been siding with the "Why do the same thing again?" crowd, and am not being influenced by his time as a top level player here, which I remember well. They can hire three different previous candidates with somewhat similar coaching backgrounds but that doesn't mean they'll have similar results. These are three different men. Glenn could be the one to be more of "head" coach.

This is not my first choice, but i will have no trouble getting behind it. Last time i liked Saleh because of the Niners success, and his excitement level. He seemed to communicate well - to the fans at least. Admittedly not the best reasons.

At this point I'm more worried about the QB position...

You guys are missing the point, what makes Aaron Glenn Qualified to be a head coach nothing? Do you not know the man interviewing him? His name is Woody Johnson incase you don't know, If you think he is a good judge of character and knows what the fuck he is doing I got a bridge to sell you. This isn't a 3 month or 1 season experiment, if Aaaron Glenn sucks we are stuck with him for another 4-6 years just like Saleh, Do you want to be miserable for another 4-6 years and waste another 1-10 top pick on a quarterback and have him bust and only to see him develop on another team like Darnold? Why not get a proven guy like Mccarthy for a change, maybe he will not get us to the superbowl, but surely he will get us into the playoffs in the next 4 years and develop a qb most likely and make us relevant again. You guys are dellusional and clearly missing the point.

Glenn will sink or swim depending on who he hires to command the offense. I like the person and leader of men aspect. A bit concerned about the X’s and O’s but that’s why you hire a good staff you can lean on.

I don’t trust this Newmark clown at all. He was apart of a losing franchise for the majority of his career.

First of all you need to get a GM that hits on a QB. There is only so much development you can do. Second, development of the QB falls square on the OC and QB coach. The HC has a lot more to do than that. Mostly we need a HC that can instill discipline and proper execution to the entire team, something we sorely lacked like in forever. So there is a hell of a lot more to the role of the HC than developing a QB. I don’t know if AR is the right answer, but he wants the job, he loves the Jets, and he is a hell of a leader. Still he needs to arm himself with a top OC and DC. No different than any other good coach in the making. That’s what is going to make him successful or not. I venture to say he can attract a pretty good set of coaches, or at least I hope so.
