Sounds like an accounting firm. Hopefully they hold players accountable. Seems like this is what we're gonna get, could be as soon as today. Both are the only ones at their respective job titles to receive second interviews.

And for Christ's sake, whatever happens, let it be the end of the endless merry-go-round of interviews.

Part of me feels the hope and excitement of a new regime, the other part (the much bigger part ) of me feels like it's Groundhog Day and hiring first time guys, especially on the defensive side of the ball in the case of the head coach, yet again.

    Thoughts, everyone?

Oh look, a first time former DC and a need to draft a QB in the next year or 2. We’ve never tried this before, I hear Aaron Glenn has a huge list of QB’s he’s developed.

This is the safe pick. Using the exact same formula that we're sure doesn't work for the Jets. Very safe.

Lets get it done, like you and probably many, I am sick of this endless search. If this is the dual then so be it and lets hope they guys know what the hell their doing because the last regime only created a losing culture....

Lets try this experiment for the 100th time now, surely it'll work the 100th. Getting proven coaches or people who know a damn about offense is overrated. Getting a defensive coach when we will be drafting our franchise Qb this year or next is overrated anyways. Let a defensive coach develop our franchise Qb, oh that has worked out so well before. I mean we looked like a Pee Wee football team at times on Offense last year and thats with Aaron Rodgers, so what do we need to do get a defensive coach that knows absolutely nothing about offense? Oh hes a ex Jet so we need to give him a chance! Most people go a different path in life when the same foolish decisions burn them, but no not Woody, keep trying till it works right? Only been a quarter of a century, but hey whos counting?

Don't worry, it'll work this time. And if it doesn't, in three years we'll hire another hotshot DC candidate who has never been a head coach before. And it'll definitely work then.

I watched Aaron Glenn as a kid. Basically I started watching the Jets when he was drafted. Parcells was his coach. He was on the team when they went to the AFC Championship Game after being (1-15) two years before. He just helped turn around the Lions franchise. He is well respected around the league. He wants to coach the Jets.

It’s not like hiring Bowles or Saleh to me. This is much better. Hopefully once he is introduced, the naysayers will get on board and be excited.

Why is it much better exactly, because he played here during your childhood? His track record as DC isn’t even as good as Bowles or Saleh, so what in the world could possibly have you excited?

Being a top coordinator or having the #1 defense doesn’t mean you will be a good Head Coach. We have seen that in the past. I feel like Glenn is a better communicator and will be able to lead the team as a whole instead of just on the defensive side of the ball. The players respect him too. He has experienced so much in the NFL. The Jets need a lot of work done though, so it may take time, but he feels like the right guy for the job.

My thoughts are that everyone on this board will have an opinion. And that positive or negative posts notwithstanding, no one knows what will happen. Surely, it will not stop all the experts from giving their uninformed take.

Please, no sarcasm but honestly asking, explain why it's any different? I agree that past performance doesn't necessarily dictate future performance, but we can't say this is different in any way other than we're much more familiar with him and he provides nostalgic value.

What you mean it’s exactly like hiring saleh and Bowles except they were better defensive coordinators and were probably more respected as they had more time in their organizations, this is repeating the same exact shit time and time again and expecting a different result, also why bring a defensive mind in the building that knows nothing about offense to run a dysfunctional offense an develop our next franchise qb? That is dumber than dumb

there's this misconception that you have to have a mastermind as a coach scheming up things nobody has seen before to win.

Have no head coaching experience? Want a chance? Come to the Jets where you will be paid handsomely, answer to the owner's son and pick players based on their Madden ratings! It's almost like Madden franchise mode but it's real life! Come to Woody's today! No experience required! Now hiring!

Does Tannenbaum get his commission taken out of the salary for who they hire? I'd imagine he gets a 25% cut of their first year salary because that's how hires work in an agency world.
