It is very easy to overcome if Woody stumbles into someone competent. And I am losing faith daily it will happen, but not all hope is lost just yet. But Woody gave JD/Saleh plenty of time to succeed, they didn't because they were not good, not because he wouldn't allow them. Ultimately It's because he and Chris fucked up big and hired wrong people.

But even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while. We need this year to be one of these times where Woody accidently stumbles into someone good, and our fortunes can change.

I don't know, I think he is a senile old man at this point, where thinking is overrated, and whoever comes in will be able to do the job fine IF they are competent. The problem is finding a competent person - which is hard to do for a senile old man. This is where I was hoping the 33d team would help him stumble into someone good. Still hoping actually...

A resume like that almost makes him overqualified for the Jets job.

Ben Johnson was reckless yesterday. That defense is decimated by injuries, you run the ball and control the clock to help the team out.

You also run the ball with Jahmyr Gibbs who is on a freakin roll, you don’t force feed Montgomery just cause he’s back from injury.

For Gibbs to get only 14 carries and they are throwing double reverse deep bombs with Jameson Williams with the game on the line is just terrible playoff playcalling

Andy Reid woulda won that game 24-20, same personnel on both sides

I just don't really care about the injuries this year because Glenn's defenses have been awful the other 3 years he's been DC as well.

I really don't see the appeal. He used to play for us? Great! Why should we care about that? It has nothing to do with how good of a coaching candidate he is.

That's the appeal. When looking to what the Jets are going to do, always look at the marketing angle first. The fanbase is upset? Give them a beloved former player for the team.

What actually happens on the football field always seems to be the last, and most insignificant, piece of criteria that they use when making these decisions. And they also seem to love to hire people with connections to either the franchise or to the New York area. This time, despite the implied promise that comes with hiring one of the people responsible for putting the current leadership with the Washington Commanders in place, will be no different. That, in and of itself, is another piece of marketing from the Jets that only changes the dynamic of the hiring process on a superficial level and makes gives the fanbase reason for false hope because this time they're going about the process "differently". In the end, it will yield the same, or perhaps worse, results on the actual football field.

That's not what I've been reading from some In this thread. In fairness, I've been checked out of this whole process. I literally just now looked up the Lions stats.

    Not great, thanks for explaining.

What little research I have done and after watching the Bills... I'm kinda In on Joe Brady right now.

I just can't fathom us taking another "defensive minded" HC. It's an offensive league, to me It's a no brainer. Get a true OFFENSIVE minded guy In the building as our next HC.

    idk...
